I love coming here for lunch and they are an accepting Green Apple Participant so that makes it even better for anyone with a Green Apple Card or Gift Card looking for a bite to eat in Downtown Pittsburgh. All of their selections are very good and street parking is usually not to difficult to find but you will have to walk a block or 2.

always pleasant at the counter with a smile at the take out register, I ordered a lil sal burger and fries, the thing I love the most is no fuss they will put whatever you want on the sandwiches, my kind of place. Thanks Sal's for great service so far and the food was piping hot and delicious.

Sal's is really good! Clean w/ friendly attentive staff. Joined friends in town for lunch here multiple times and was not disappointed! Really well thought out menu selections for lunch w/ prompt service.
Cuban sandwich and Reuben are top notch!

The reason that this place is so distinctive is because it's directly below the now shut down Le Cordon Bleu school. The owner hired as many students and staff as he could to keep them doing what they love: cooking. And boy does it show.

This place, hands down, has the best Reuben I've ever eaten. I will actually go out of my way to order Reubens at other delis to compare it to Sal's. I know the owner and head chef very well. They're old school Italians that have a flair for making money by providing the best possible experience and food.

Get the potato pancake Reuben if you want your calories for the week, you won't regret it.

Get the soup if you want something light.

I loved that place on the first day I tried it. The breakfast sandwich was substantial and satisfying. Not to mention delicious. My lunch was the Cuban Sandwich which also was delicious... the pork meat was excellent. I'm returning more often.
