Food was great but service was extremely slow and uneven. We attended in a group of 8 and 2 in our group did not get their food until 35 minutes after the first good came out of the kitchen. Everyone else in our group was done eating by the time the last two were served. The rest of the food also failed to come out of the kitchen together, but not nearly as dramatic as the difference between the first and the last. With that said, the food was delicious, the restaurant was clean and pleasant and is a great location to grab a bite to eat before heading a few doors down to Harlow's for an evening concert. We also were treated well by the staff, but only an apology was offered for the extreme delay for two of our meals when the staff knew we were trying to get down to Harlow's quickly after dinner. Hoping this was just an unfortunate aberration and that it will be better when we return to give them another try.

My girlfriend and I went in around 1:45pm when it was pretty slow. We sat at the bar and the server had a beard and he was SO nice. His service was amazing, he was friendly and his recommendation was perfect! He said we should try the fish tacos and carnitas. It was the best carnitas I have ever had in my life! Then, it got even better when the GM Sergio came by and said hello to us. I told him how awesome our experience was and then jokingly said how bout a free shot of infused tequila. He not only said, of course on me, he even let us sample others. He was warm, genuine and it was one of the best customer service experiences we have had in a long time. Great food, great people. I posted this on my facebook too!

From the time we walked in and were greeted by the beautiful and gracious hostess, to the time we left, full and happy, we had a great time. I LOVE the fruit infused tequilas (and I don't generally drink). They are beautiful to look at and while we were waiting for a table, the bartender allowed me to sample some of them, as I had never had tequila before. He was knowledgeable and changed my perception of tequila from a Frat-party means of self-obliteration to a libation that could be perfumed and complemented by the variety of fruits that had been chosen to create a refreshing and/or delicate experience for my palate. I LOVE the carnitas and my husband loves your enchiladas. Our server was warm, knowledgable and gracious and we had a fantastic evening. I also love the ambience. I often recommend people check you out. Keep up the good work!

For the price, I really expected better food. It's not that the food was bad, it's just that there was no there there. Guacamole had little avocado flavor and desperately needed lemon and salt. Shrimp on the tacos was good, but the salsa on the tacos had zero flavor. Rice had zero flavor and also needed salt. (No salt on the table to fix this problem either.)

Chips and soft drinks were not refilled. Service was otherwise prompt and the order was accurate.

In my opinion, Centro stays as busy as it is for two reasons: (1) location; (2) flashiness/curb appeal/whatever you want to call it.

While the food is authentic enough, it's really not remarkable. They do make (or used to--haven't been back in a while) the salsa in the kitchen, fresh every day, which is great. BUT, if I recall correctly, you PAY for chips and salsa.

Speaking of paying...$15 for "Chicken Enchiladas." --WHAT? The equivalent at, say, Ernesto's (Enchiladas Suizas, for example) is about $11. This is exactly my complaint with this place--WAY too expensive for what you get...the food is not bad, it's just not worth what you'll pay for it.

Apparently many types of tequila, though, so if that's your bag, this might be your joint.
