I sh!t thee not, they have the best Bloody Marys in town! They infuse their vodka with horseradish. The hangover Bloody Mary (Sundays only), is served with half of a grilled cheese sandwich skewered on top. Brilliant and tasty. For the beer drinkers- they have a large selection to choose from with quite a few local beers as well.
The ambiance is fantastic and the bartenders know what's up. It is generally super loud which I'm not found of and the drinks are pricey but still it's totally worth it.

Chapel Tavern is now located at 1099 S Virginia St.

The location at 1495 S Virginia St is now called 40 Mile Saloon.

The 40 Mile Saloon is a great place. More so of a "neighborhood bar" than the Chapel Tavern.

It seems to be a beer and a shot kind of place on the surface, but you can still get a fresh squeezed Greyhound or Screwdriver if that's your style. If you are looking for a hand crafted cocktail they can do that here too. The ingredient list is not near as extensive as at the Chapel Tavern, so if you want something with ALL the accoutrements you need to visit the friendly staff at the Chapel.

40 Mile Saloon has specials running weekly and right now they have all-you-can-drink mimosas for $10 on the weekends.

When it first opened, you couldn't see any of the walls because of all the smoke. It has improved in this department, especially in the summer when they open the doors, but for whatever reason, all the lung cancer folks hang here along with a good amount of tattoos and dyed black hair. Recently, they added a buttload of great beers mostly from Europe to supplement the ironic PBR drink of the hipster generation. They also have a dj often and a pool table. There's a good smattering of young hotties here too.
