07/16/2015 4:47 pmI took friends there who had been visiting town because I wanted them to have a real "Washington Dining Experience". It was sort of a disappointment! The bread was stale and dry, the waiters were unhelpful in trying to substitute the fries for something else or explaining the choices. I got a bottle of fizzy water but they came around and never thought of pouring it (of course I can pour it myself-and I did). The food was average, and the PRIX FIXE was the same exactly of 3 months ago. My husband and I are writing Charlie Palmer off our list. |

06/23/2015 1:37 pmFood was ok but for the price there are a lot of places that ate much better. Out of a party of five they messed up thee ordets. The place was less than half full and the wait staff kept disappearing. As expensive as this place you would think they could keep your water glass full without having to constantly flag someone down. |

08/08/2014 6:44 pmSee and be seen, near the Capitol. While it has a good lunch menu, the place is LOUD. Loud. Very loud. It is hard to hear what your dining companions are saying, so don't think you're going to get a lot of work done. The wine cube in the middle looks appealing, though I didn't get to linger over the wine list. The crab cake sandwich was far too uniform -- it was shaped like a perfect puck, and was very homogenous in texture. A shame, considering we're in crab cake country. Those who ordered meat were happy with their choices. Side orders of fries never arrived, however. |

11/22/2015 12:18 pmAs you'd expect, there are lots of Hill lobbyists and well-heeled tourists tucking into steaks cooked to perfection at this refined Capitol Hill expense-accounter via star chef Charlie Palmer; the lavish surroundings and excellent service make for classy dining, and fans particularly like its exquisite all-American wine list. |
