If you are in anchorage looking for Chinese food in particular, you got to eat at Charlie's Bakery. Coming from an Asian background, I know when Chinese food is good. Charlie's Bakery has the best Chinese food in Anchorage. I've tried all the other places and nothing beats this place. For example: a lot of Chinese places here in anchorage when they make fried rice are either too oily or taste really plain, Charlie's Bakery fried rice actually has taste to it and not as oily. Again only rating their Chinese food, not the bakery goods.

This used to be one of our favorite Chinese restaurants in Anchorage. Since we first found this place till our most recent visit, things have really changed here. The food is alright but lacking the last time we went in. The desserts looking like they are good but never tried them.

One of, if not the only, place to get dim sum in Anchorage. Great baked goods too.

My husband and I wanted Chinese food for lunch and we both wanted something quick because we only had 30 min to eat and get back to our places of employment. We were looking for something close and were going to settle on a buffet to be safe for time but decided to take a leap and be daring, so we tried Charlie's Bakery. We both went hesitantly because we honestly thought " There's just no way this is going to be good; it's a BAKERY for pete's sake"! To our surprise they had a mile long group of people waiting to order when we walked in along with people coming in sporadically to pick up called in orders. The staff was very calm and collected, operating like a well oiled machine under pressure. It took maybe 3 minutes for us to get to the front of the line and it was the best Chinese food either of us has ever tasted and both our orders came out in under 10 minutes, non-greasy, hot, and delicious. I've NEVER written a review before, let alone a good one, so I hope this encourages someone to really take a chance with this place. You won't regret it.

The sesame chicken is the best I've had in town. The sauce tastes like sesame seed, not just syrupy goop. Also, perfectly cooked pork bun. Woooop!
