Excellent service. Steak had no flavor and way too much gristle for a 42.00 steak. Salad and mushrooms great.

A New Orleans staple, nothing fancy just a good old fashioned Steak House. The onion rings are wonderful.

On our last night in New Orleans, my friends and I found this gem of a steakhouse. We were looking to have an easy going evening, however a bachelor party that showed up at the restaurant wouldn't allow it. The staff quickly sat us, allowing us to get away from the drunken group of guys. We were able to reclaim our night with such amazing food, friendly service, and did I mention the amazing food? I can't thank the staff enough for their professionalism and hospitality. Next time I'm in New Orleans, I'll definitely be coming back here!

This may be one of my favorite spots to eat in the entire city. I am slightly biased because I am friends with the owner and this place is right in my uptown neighborhood. It’s a New Orleans institution that has been sizzling up hot steaks for 70 plus years. They don’t have any menus and used to only have the limited options of a filet or T-bone steak but now have expanded to include a rib eye and maybe a strip as well. It’s customary to also get the giant pile of onion rings as an appetizer before your blue chees or thousand-island wedge salad. As far as sides go the au gratin potatoes, mushrooms and now they have added mixed vegetables but I don’t support this. Haha. It’s a great spot for parties upstairs or to sit at the bar and watch a game while you eat a sizzling steak served on a hot metal plate with piping hot butter. Don’t forget to get a little Angelo Brocato’s spumoni afterwards as well. Charlie’s is also the second stop on my “Dryades Street Surf & Turf.” This means going to Pascale Manales for cocktails and raw oysters only at their bar then proceeding to a steak dinner at Charlie’s afterwards. I promise it’s foodie heaven.

Over all not great, friend ordered a prime rib it was burnt on the bottom, my strip was ok but burnt in places as well.. medium rare means well done/bunrt on the bottom and very rare but warm up top. No menus very few items ok house salads, well 1/4 of a head of cabbage over dressed onions and a slice of tomato.. Not what I was expecting I guess its good for locals, It was interesting thr steaks came out on metal plates, as to why they were burnt I believe.. How ever the waiters were great and staff was freindly, the place was clean and the little bar seemed good.
