Cheeburger Cheeburger, Sarasota, Florida Restaurant Details

This place is definitely a place you want to hit up if you're in the Sarasota Area! Been going here for at least 4 years now and never has the food failed to exceed my expectations. I'm no burger expert but I know a good burger when I eat one and this place rivals the famous Shake Shack burgers as well as the famous In-and-Out burgers of the west coast! Basically you can build your burger with both the size of the patty from 1/3 LB to a whole pound of burger (upon full consumption of the1 LB burger you get your picture taken and you're put up on the wall of fame) to the type of cheese you want, toppings you'd prefer and sauces/condiments that float your boat. Each burger I've had there is perfectly cooked the way I like it, the cheese is literally melting into the meat perfectly and the fries are wonderfully crispy and hand cut (the onion rings ain't too shabby as well). The milkshakes are all handspun at the small bar they have and if you ever have the cookie dough milkshake it is such a delight to suck little chunks of cookie dough up your straw! The décor here is very cute (old diner style with flashy neon colors that mimic the diners of the 50s in Miami Beach) and the staff is always very attentive and helpful! I've never had a bad experience here (to be honest I don't know anyone who has which is why the other reviews are surprising to here, but maybe because I'm a born and bred Sarasota Native I'm a little more understanding of some instances stated below). Perfect for families on the go, on their way to and from the beach and on vacation!

Do NOT take out a burger from this place. I've tried to get one from them over and over as my wife loves their cheeburger salad. They fail everytime. It always looks like someone has sat on the burger and scooted sideways. The entire thing is a disgusting mess. Constantly a total disgusting mess.

Fries are never crispy no matter how you order them.

Bacon is limp no matter how you order it.

Great shakes, but the to go size has shrunk by 1/3rd since 2012.

When this establishment first opened the service was slow, but the food was amazing. My last visit left a lot to be desired. I visited this restaurant with my family. The restaurant was not busy, however it still took a long wait for the food, drinks were refilled only after we asked. I ordered a (Supposedly 3/4 pound burger) I ordered it medium well as I cannot tolerate ground meat on the rare side. The food came and I found the burger to be bleeding, as it was rare. they sent it back and after my family had been finished eating. My food came, and still was very much on the bloody side, but to get the meal over i ate the burger. I realize that the weight is a precooked weight but would be surprised if the burger was more that 1/3 pound. I left hungry and sick to my stomach. the manager did take the cost of my meal off the bill. So I can say that they made the effort to satisfy me as a customer. Unfortunately, I know every restaurant has a bad day, but my disappointment in Cheeburger cheeseburger has left me feeling that I will not return, or even recommend it to friends and family. This may sound like a rant, but as one person who rarely makes complaints or reviews restaurants please take my experience to heart before choosing this establishment to have a nice dinner with your family.

My wife found a roach in her drink. The server still charged her for it and said, "yeah, they get in there every night. It's Florida, there's bugs, what can you do?" Not making this up, apparently they just have bugs in their drink fountain and don't care. Never going there again, sad because it was otherwise a pretty good place.
