The cheesecake factory KC 4701 Wyandotte St. KC MO 64112, I WAS TICKET #0207 MARGARET M was the wait person the checkout time was 15:49. I had early dinner at this cheesecake factory location on the country club plaza on wednesday december 16 2015. I ordered two fruit bowls to go for my children as I have done many times before I requested that sliced bananas to be added to the fruit bowls. The waitress or wait person for my table brought the fruit bowls to go to me in a bag that was clearly torn and had one of the handles about torn off. I mentioned this and asked for a second bag to safely carry the two fruit bowls, a 7" cheesecake ordered to go and my leftover box as well from my meal. The waitress said "sure no problem" and brought me a second bag that was not torn with hole in it. I then said that it did not look like there were as many strawberries or bananas as usual in the fruitbowl, my waitress said ok I will bring you some additional strawberries and bananas. The waitress then brought a small container with more strawberries and 1 un sliced banana, and I remarked should that banana have been sliced and place into the fruit bowls by the kitchen? The waitress replied "oh you want us to slice it for you too?" I then replied" no thats ok no big deal I will cut the banana and put it in the fruit bowls for my son when I get home." I then paid my check with $10 tip and went home and put the fruit bowls and cheesecake in the fridge. The next morning todays date 12-17 my child wanted the fruit bowls for breakfast before his last day of school before christmas and his mom gave them to our child. Our child next then said "mom there are onions in here" we-- both parents confirmed there was a big volume of the variety of red onions finely chopped all through both fruit bowls, and our son hates onion and started to feel sick and queasy to his stomach. I called and made complaint with KC Health Dept, AND WAS TOLD INSPECTOR WOULD FOLLOW UP WITHIN 24-48 HOURS WITH THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY COUNTRY CLUB PLAZA LOCATION. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FOOD ESTABLISHMENT, THEY PUT ONIONS IN FRUIT BOWLS FOR LITTLE KIDS TO MAKE THEM SICK AND TO HURT KIDS AND MAKE THEM CRY DURING CHRISTMASTIME! Further communications with the top food and beverage manager of this cheesecake factory location resulted in what seems an sincere apology from manager, my entire check for the order on wednesday the 16th being refunded to my cc and a $20 gift certificate to be mailed to me, and assurance that same manager a person named Jackie- no last name given would look into this matter and further scrutinize and review the food prep cooks and their work equipment and work areas. The dinner fare is average to slightly above average, acceptable but nothing to celebrate. The portions are relatively generous based on what you pay. As its name might imply, the reason to visit might be for the cheesecake, of which there are a variety of flavors available. Regardless of your choice, it will certainly be rich and certainly decadent. Service is admirable. It can be a bit noisy, dependent on where you sit.

DO: Take advantage of their "Give a giftcard, get a slice promotion" and purchase $25 gift cards to pay for you meal and receive a free slice of cheesecake redeemable next year.

DO: Request a booth or a specific table, when dining as a pair. Otherwise, you may be seated along a row of seats that are essentially a communal table rendering conversation difficult and privacy non-existant.

DO: Arrive early on typically busy evenings or expect a relatively lengthy wait where you might find yourself outside.

DO: Consider ordering your cheesecake to go, even if you intend to eat it there. As indicated, it is heavy, in a good way, and you might want to enjoy the remainder of your evening unencumbered. Also, you might want a snack later.

DO NOT: Attempt to walk in and purchase cheesecake during the dinner rush. The same people tasked with serving cheesecake to diners also handle walk up, non-dining orders for cheesecake. Your wait can be lengthy.
