06/27/2015 11:29 pmI have been eating at China garden since my daughter was born. She will be 28 in July. that ought to tell you something about the quality and consistency of the food and the service. Prices are very reasonable. The staff treat you like you're family. And the food is always good and hot. They make their own egg rolls, nothing is frozen. These egg rolls are the best in the city and I've eaten from a lot of places. |

06/14/2015 4:39 pmThe food was fantastic, and the owners are so very nice. I'm from Detroit, and finding almond boneless chicken outside the metro is impossible, except for this place here in Indy. It's a variant of it, but it's still very, very good, and hits the spot. |

06/12/2015 9:42 pmIt took me 15 minutes to give our delivery order over the phone because the employee and those he was asking from the kitchen said they could not make me an order of vegetable fried rice and tofu. Then he was told he couldn't give me a side of tofu with vegetable fried rice. He could not explain the logic. I asked if they could make something with teryaki and tofu. He said no. I then went with homestyle tofu and asked that they cut it up small. I am a vegetarian, but do not enjoy the texture of tofu. I need protein and can get past the texture if diced. I asked for forks and extra soy sauce. The food came, and the tofu was as big as the sweet and sour chicken pieces. I tried it and just could not eat it. We did not get napkins or silverware. We only received 4 packets of soy sauce for a family of 4. And finally there were no fortune cookies. I hadn't asked if they were included because what Chinese restaurant doesn't give fortune cookies?!? I called to let them know about our experience. The owner answered. She said that these were all errors of the employee who took our order. He had left for the day, and she would ask him about it. She said silverware and napkins are never included on delivery orders, but I was told they would be sent. The owner interrupted me several times while I was trying to explain the situation. I said that usually restaurants try to make up for their mistakes by offering a future discount or free meal. She said since no food was actually missing she could not do anything. I have worked in the restaurant business and seen customers demand a free complete order if just one minor mistake was made. I have seen managers meet this demand to satisfy the customer. She refused to provide any satisfaction and certainly did not act like she wanted any business from my family. I was appalled and disappointed with my first and only experience with China Garden. |
