Great food and service. However, the seafood is always in small quantities and the wait can be quite long

I called the restaurant a couple days before going there for lunch to see how much a lunch buffet would be on a weekday, the woman who answered the phone clearly told me that it would be $4.50, I then asked how much it would be for a lunch buffet on the weekend. She said it was just a dollar more, $5.50. My dad (I'm 18) had coincidentally gotten some take-out from that same place that day and also told me that the buffet was only $4.50 without knowing I had called in to ask their price earlier, when he was gone. After reading great reviews online of their great service and food, I was anxious to go.
.
I went there on a weekday for lunch with two other people. Within a few seconds of entering the door, we were asked by the manager how many people need to be seated and we were quickly asked what we wanted to get to drink by the waitress (Pepsi products, by the way).
.
The restaurant could definitely look better in my opinion, it seemed dark, quite unlively, and the very dimly-lit buffet room felt gloomy.
.
The buffet it's self was mediocre, they didn't offer hardly any of my favorite dishes and the ones that were there didn't look very appetizing. The obvious dishes for a Chinese buffet weren't done very well, the fried rice looked very pale and had no vegetables in it and the General Tso's chicken looked more like General Tso's soup because the sauce was so watery. However, the broccoli, carrot, and chicken was very good as well as the sugar-coated buns and there was a variety of numerous desserts.
.
While we were eating, our glasses were constantly filled and our used plates taken away by the waitresses. The bill was presented with fortune cookies as usual, but I was sure they had made a mistake. We got 3 buffets at what I thought was $4.50, two soft drinks at about $1.50, and a water (free), which totals to $16.50 plus tax, but she had written 6.99 for each buffet plus the drinks, which left me at a bill of almost $25 including tax. When I went to the register and asked "Isn't the lunch buffet $4.50?", she pointed at a whiteboard (not seen unless you look for it) that said $6.99. I payed for the buffet, but I don't think I'll be going back.
.
Overall:
I liked their staff's politeness and their great service, but there are lots of improvements to be made. I hope that this is a rare occurance, but I have no clue why the staff told both me and my dad a distinct low price, then blind-sight me when I get there with a much higher price. The other suggestions I would make would be:
.
1. They need to re-consider what needs to be on the buffet, perhaps with a customer survey that goes out with the bill that lets them rate the food and looking at what sells and what doesn't closer.
2. Some floor lamps and curtains would really help the atmosphere.
3. The price needs to be clearly shown at the front door, right in front of customers when they walk in, not way off to the side of the doorway where it's hard to find.
.
If I were you, I'd go to Super China Buffet in the northern part of town, it's cheaper and a lot better in my opinion

There's not as many Chinese Buffets in Greensboro anymore. Survival of the fittest! This place has been around since the 90s and they've expanded and their buffet is one of the largest higher quality selections around!

They even have the ever so rare sesame ball and other cool Dim Sum.

I have been to many Chinese Buffets in the U.S. China Wok on High Point Rd., Greensboro, NC is one of the top 3 Chinese Buffets. I am a big fan of Sea Food.
China Wok provides many sea food dishes. It's awesome! The shrimps are fresh. The fish is delicious, too. My husband and I went to China Wok today for lunch. The price is reasonable (Without drink, it's under $10 before tax). We will definitely go back again! ^^
