Anything with Kale will make you forget you ever had a hangover. Sit-down and takeout are about the same in terms of quality. The prices are closer to the high end, but this is consistent with similar venues in the area. There are two kinds of brunch cafes in East Village, those who know how to scramble an egg, and those who don't. Ciao for Now fits in the former.

Cutest brunch place I've been to in a while. Super affordable and the food is delicious. Not too crowded, there is actually enough space and you can hold a conversation. Staff was so friendly too!

Friendly staff. Almond brioche french toast is delicious - nice, cozy atmosphere for a brunch catch-up. Delicious orange juice not from concentrate. When using the bathroom, make sure to twist and lift lever for running water...this can be tricky.

Cute place! Drawings from little kids on the walls, cute little jar mugs for water, flowers on the table, organic ketchup, etc. Service was great, staff was very friendly, got seated right away for brunch on a Sunday morning.

Got the corned beef hash for $12.50, The Manhattan omelet, and a side of rosemary fries ($4). Comes with glass of fresh orange juice which was delicious!

The fries are actually more like cooked potatoes, so not exactly what we were expecting. They were ok, but didn't have much texture or taste to it to justify ordering again.

The omelet wasn't bad, comes in an interesting semi-circle shape with square corners, although the mushroom was a little overpowering for me.

The corned beef hash tasted pretty good, although also pretty different from what I'm used to. Served with two eggs on top, which was a nice addition. The usual taste of corned beef wasn't as strong -- the beef comes in these interesting squares instead of the usual mash -- and in a sauce that was good but I think I wanted more salt from it.

Over all a good place to go, and pretty healthy tasting food. Probably not my first choice for brunch, but would come back again for sure!

cozy place, good brunch (opens early, at 9), not crowded, and their decor is funky, too. plus everything is reasonably priced. Service is incredibly confused: three waiters asking if we have been served. On the other hand you get free pastries when the wait is long.
