Very pleasant place to eat but very overpriced for this economy. Not a place u can go except for special occasions.

We have dined at Cinque Terre on many occasions and have consistently found it to be of the highest quality. It is a restaurant for those who want a leisurely, delicious experience...the appetizers are creative, the wine list is impressive, the entrees are yummy....desserts, too. I highly recommend Cinque Terre - it's a gem in Portland.

So relaxing and definitely a place that feels sophisticated, yet homey. Has a great deal of fine entrees and courses that include local ingredients. If you've never been, go check it out! Prepare to be entertained, if you like adventurous meals. Might be a bit expensive, but worth it!

We had a very disappointing dinner at cinque terre. I even emailed the chef to voice my concerns about the dinner and never heard from him.
My husband was served a whole fish...and after it was presented by the waiter, our expectation was that they would debone and filet the fish and dispose of the head. We were told that it was served that way..and yes, it required work on the part of the guest. There was no place for the head ..and so it sat on the bread plate oozing herbs from iits mouth!. The dish was a mess!

Would not recommend to anyone!

Our first trip to Portland included eating here. The waiter stumbled when we asked for a wine recommendation. (The wine he eventually recommended was pretty good.) My husband and I ordered the tasting menu ($65/person, with a two person minimum). It was decent. Two exceptions to that though: one the risotto was a bit salty and two the veal was overcooked. Our desert was really good. And the espresso was good. But the service, frankly I've had better at Chili's! The environment was nice and comfy.
