02/16/2012 9:45 pmWhile it's not the worst BBQ I've had in Reno, it's just another one that I won't go back to. |

02/22/2011 9:50 pmGreat food and wonderful, family atmosphere. The brisket was excellent, and the hot sauce was flavorful without being overly hot. Remember that BBQ is a personal taste issue - What one person loves another might not care for at all. Enjoyed the sweet potato fries, as well. Will be back again! |

02/02/2011 8:04 pmI personally would have given this place a 3 star, but my husband loves it. The pulled pork should really be called a chopped pork sandwich, and instead of tasting a smoky flavor, I could taste the briquettes, which is not at all like a good smoker flavor. And even if you don't smoke your pork, and you decide to grill it, I certainly don't want to taste the lighter fluid. My Husband LOVES the beans, but for me they tasted like hot dogs, and not a true molases style bean I was hoping for. But, they did have huge chunks of pork in them, which could have given them that "pork and bean" flavor that came across hot-doggish. The BBQ sauce was good and served warm, which is always a nice touch. I didn't like the fact that "mild" meant "less spicy" instead of no spice. I'm pretty sensitive to spice, but for good BBQ, I usually deal with it, but I had to mix my BBQ with ketchup to make it more palatable. Plus side, the fired pickles= FANTASTIC, they serve grape kool-aid, how flippin cool is that? The french fries aren't shoe string, they're a "man's food" size, and the people there are just about as nice and friendly as can be. |

08/17/2010 4:09 amWhile the sauce is amazing, rich in brown sugar, once again I'm confounded as to why any bbq rib place would use throw away meat and often meat that is inedible like overcooked jerky. I swear, the only place to have real ribs albeit mediocre sauce is a place like Applebee's or Chili's or Outback. Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? When I want ribs, I want those rib bones! Not cartilege or corner meat or weird knuckle looking stuff you can't eat. I am SOOOOOO disappointed in Reno. Dickey's had real ribs for a while when they opened, but they too now have succumbed to using garbage meat to supplement the real ribs. Just friggin charge more folks! Seriously! I'd pay more for real ribs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

07/24/2010 1:01 amWent the other day and the food was terrible. My kids wouldn't even eat the meat. We tried the turkey, it was chopped up very small and drenched in sauce. I thought the turkey was smoked and fell off the bones not boiled and chopped into tiny pieces which is what it tasted like. My son had a chicken leg and couldn't even chew the skin...ended up spitting it out and throwing out the rest. The kids fries from the kids meal were soggy and under cooked. Sorry for the bad review but I was not impressed, I wasted my money and won't return. Also, I agree the staff was less than friendly. |
