01/02/2016 1:14 amStayed at Smokey Mountain Magesty. Was a nice cabin but when we pulled out the sofa beds, there were crumbs all over one and not enough linens to cover all the sofa beds. Power went out wednes day and fried the hot water heater circuit board and they couldn't fix till monday after we left so no hot water. Had to do old style by heating hot water in pots and sponge bath for 10 people. Husband had to rinse off in hot tub that hardly worked. Stink bugs got in through the cracks in the doors upstairs. |

12/28/2015 8:58 pmStayed at copper ridge. There were roaches in the kitchen. The grill on the deck is unusable. The downstairs shower door didn't close. Batteries in the bedroom boom box remote were dead. It is a shame that such a gorgeous cabin, with nice amenities, is so poorly maintained! |

10/15/2015 2:02 pmMy husband and I rented "Taste of Honey" from Cobbly Nob Rentals. This was our first time renting from them. Overall the cabin was okay. My foremost concern was the railing on the back deck where the hot tub is located. DO NOT LEAN ON THE RAILING, it is loose and it is a LONG way down. Also the cabin lacked outdoor/porch furniture. It has a beautiful front porch but no where to sit. And the 2 chairs that were on the back porch were so narrow that only a few % of the population could fit in them comfortably. I felt like there needed to be some type of window covering for the front door of the cabin. There is nothing, just plain glass on the top half of the door, and that door faces the road. Some of the blinds on the windows throughout the cabin could use a little TLC. Some of them were broke but they were serving their purpose. The shower curtain liner could have been a little cleaner in the bedroom bath. The king bed in the master suite is so soft it honestly feels like you sink to the floor when you lay on it. If you like soft mattresses this will probably be just what you are looking for, if not you might want to sleep on the sofa beds. Overall the cabin was very clean and we enjoyed our stay. |

07/21/2015 12:54 amMy family of four stayed at Simple Bear Necessities for 6 nights. This is a 2 bedroom cabin with 2½ baths. It is a really nice cabin with 3 levels. The main level has the living room, kitchen, dining room, and a bedroom. On this level there is a deck with a hot tub, chairs, and BBQ grill. The upper level has a sitting area with an open jacuzzi tub and the second bedroom. The upper deck on that level is smaller and has two lounge chairs although one was ripped. We spent the majority of our time on the main level deck. The lower level has the washer & dryer, a pool table, and foosball table. The cabin was clean but if I had to find one thing to complain about, it would be the dried shiny red varnish or glue that's dripped down the fireplace mantle that scared my kids when we first arrived as they thought it was blood dripping. Other than that, we had a great stay. The view from Simple Bear Necessities is pretty amazing. There are other cabins around, but with the trees they are mostly hidden from view. The resort has security that rides through and the roads are paved which is a plus in the mountains. Although Simple Bear Necessities isn't "perfect", I would call this a great place to stay and I would stay here again. |

06/09/2015 5:15 pmWe spent a long weekend at Taste of Honey thru Cobbly Nob. I thought the interactions we had with the main office were good. The girl was friendly when we checked into the resort. We had a problem with the tv in our cabin, it did not get local channels. They sent up a guy who ended up going down the steep incline behind the cabin to chainsaw some trees for better reception. It didn't work, but what great customer service. |
