A little expensive for what you get, but great service and good Americanized Mexican - nothing too crazy or out there.

Their food was amazing, my whole family loved everything from the burgers (kid's meal) to the tacos to the chimichangas to the queso. I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes Mexican or Tex-Mex. The only problem was that we went at a crowded time and the food took awhile. But it was worth the wait.

The food? Amazing. The decor? Hip and modern. The service? Eh... Read on.

Cocina is (in the least) a high end mexican restaurant that has some of the best chips and salsa I've had. Margaritas are solid but i don't think you'd come here for them. More on the food in a minute. We reserved a table through Open Table and were not disappointed when we arrived and were seated promptly.

The environs are great. You can sit in a booth, bar, high table, short table, inside or out, with fourteen or two people, and all of this with decent lighting and good people watching angles. It feels like it is hopping because it is. Didn't go to the restrooms so I cant speak to that.

The food was great. Like i said, i really like the chips and salsa. Slight kick in the salsa and the chips are crisp and not over salted. The guacamole we had was salty and creamy. If that's your thing you'll love it but at 15 bucks for guacamole for your chips, you better really like it. My wife had a salad and I had the Shrimp Brochettes. Delicious and well made. We were thoroughly satisfied.

Here's where they lost a star for me... Service was slow. And not just that, but inaccurate and making excuses. At one point i thought we would have to go request more water or extra salsa. To the waiter's credit he checked with me about whether he got my order right. When he realized he hadn't he put in an order for the correct dish and it came out only briefly after my wife's salad. My point is this: service was slow and they goofed with our order but they rectified the goof up. Still feels like the waiters are busting their butts but service is lacking. With a few more waiters all our problems would have been non existent.

So that's it. Will definitely go back and I would hope if you go you'll go easy on the staff. They are trying. The food and environment are way better than the service.

I ate dinner at Cocina for the first time last Thursday night and my experience was awful!! It had less to do with customer service and more to do with how embarrassingly wrong my order was, and how management made no effort to correct it.

After sitting down and ordering drinks, the waiter gave me chips and salsa. They were completely inedible because the bowl consisted entirely of crumbs. There was not a single chip large enough to actually eat salsa with. I was looking forward to chips and salsa the most (namely why I chose to try Cocina) and it was a huge disappointment. I didn't say anything and just waited for my food instead. Next, I ordered the brisket tacos. I am allergic to corn based products, so I specifically requested to have flour tortillas instead of corn tortillas. I also asked if I could have lettuce, cheese and sour cream on the tacos. The waiter said it would be no problem at all. When I got my food, I saw that I had been given corn tortillas and the tacos were plain. I did not say anything, and proceed to eat the plain meat out of the tortilla. A waiter must have noticed a problem, because he brought me some new tortillas. Except they were more corn tortillas. And he brought them in a napkin! Not even on a plate. While eating the plain meat, I drink all of my drink. A manager walks by and gives us a casual hello, and makes no effort to refill my completely empty glass. The glass was on the edge of the table and was so low I was actually drinking the melted ice. It wasn't until I had to drink my friends drink that someone actually noticed that I needed some service. Side note, the meat was barely edible. It consisted almost entirely of tough ends that I just had to put to the side.

I paid for the taco additions which I never received. I paid for a soda, which went way under filled. I paid for brisket tacos, when really all I got was a half serving of brisket. I am very disappointed with the entire experience.

I emailed them about my experience. Never heard back.
