12/01/2015 5:30 pmThis place is a nightmare. Horrible management starting with the front desk supervisor to the general manager. Customer service is not in their vocabulary. Very rude and suggested that we not stay there instead of fixing the issue . In regards to the room itself: the heating/air conditioning did not work so had a difficult time sleeping. Hot water did not work -luke warm if you wait long enough. Mold in the shower, outlet plugs did not work -anything I plugged in fell out. Screen to balcony did not work and would fall every time I opened it. Pillows uncomfortable. Noise level an issue if you talk above a whisper it is loud-need better insulation between walls. I have never written a negative review for any product or service but was so appalled by managements attitude I felt compelled to do so. I am a Maryland resident and go to oc often and will never recommend this place to anyone. |

08/26/2015 6:32 pmThis was my family's first stay at Coconut Malorie. We are veteran vacationers in Oc MD and have stayed at many different hotels over the last 13 years. This room was by far the largest. We also were pleasantly surprised by the kitchenette which had all the necessary items to make your own meal, dishes, cups, silverware, even pots and pans. This was a great surprise because the kids were able to eat breakfast in the room and it cut back our dining out expenses. The view of the bay is spectacular! Gorgeous sunset! There are a few draw backs to this hotel. There are no "Do Not Disturb" signs. The maid knocked on our door just before 11am and didn't wait for a response. She just walked right in and my husband was not dressed. You would think they'd be a little more courteous considering the lack of signage. When returning to our room, we saw maid staff in the hallway outside our room. They were talking loudly and were even using foul language. They saw me walking down the hall and did not alter their tone or even stop the conversation. I guess they did not see my 9 year old and figured it would be ok. Once the woman saw my daughter she immediately apologized, but I think those kind of conversations should not take place in front of any guest regardless of age. The balcony is only big enough to stand, you'll get eaten alive at dusk and Fager's Island night club is awfully close. So close you can hear people singing along with the DJ. ( We didn't mind it though) Also, the bay does stink, but it's the bay, if you don't want to smell it then I would suggest staying on the ocean side because you really can't get away from it anywhere on the bay side. The room itself was very nice except the tile floor had large amounts of sand on it at check in. Nothing a broom and dust pan couldn't handle( there is one in the closet) but I'm on vacation and would like someone else to do it. Also, the stopper in the tub didn't seal properly so using the jetted tub was a challenge, not really a problem because I just kept the water running. The game room is separate from the billiards room and gym. The game room had 3 arcade games, a skill crane and a Pepsi machine. Nothing too fancy, but at least there is a game room. (again, not many other properties have such a facility, and meant the world to my gamers! : )) The pool table was in excellent condition and the room was air conditioned. They also have numerous board games so little (or big) can be occupied while you shoot a game. The gym is one flight of stairs up from the billiards room. It is not air conditioned, but I think that's the point. The views from up there are amazing!! The pool and hot tub area are in a fantastic place, right next to the bay. My husband and I also enjoyed the fact that no one under 16 can use the hot tub. This allowed us to get in and not be interrupted by splashing children (including our own). It was a wonderful relaxing few days and we will definitely stay again. |
