04/12/2015 8:23 pmVisited from NY with our 6 year old child AND 7 year old pit bull. We were staying in a dog friendly hotel, but our dog was having none of staying solo, so we had no choice but to look for a place to eat where we could eat outside and keep our pooch with us. The place was packed, but because the weather wasn't great no one was dining outdoors. We asked the host if we could be seated out doors with our dog, and he fetched the manager who accommodated us. In an instant, not only our table, but all of the outdoor tables were wiped clean and we had our drinks and an appetizer for our son in moments. I loved that I could order "a glass and a half" of wine from the reasonably priced wine list that had lots of selections. Once we got our meals. It started to rain. We thought it was a wash, but the manager moved our table under the main door under the awning (there was still room for people to exit). We never felt rushed or unwelcome because of our dog. Our food was fabulous. I ordered the salmon with brussels sprouts that was fantastic. I loved how it was plenty of food, but not loaded with heavy carbs. My husband had the meatloaf and said it was awesome. Son had the pizza for one, which was fresh and tasty. The staff kept checking on us despite being filled to the brim inside. As hipster as the crowd was, no hipster service here! A+ all the way. You won't be disappointed. |

01/29/2015 11:32 pmI am only reviewing off of my coffee experience. This is a nice place to come if you want to relax and do some work on a weekday. I came in the other day and was able to get some work done. The tables and chairs have a slight warn out look to them. The coffee was average, I had better coffee in the dc area. The staff was excellent, they were very attentive. The lighting was dark and the atmosphere was calm. |

01/22/2015 3:19 amI really wanted to love Commissary's brunch, but I was unfortunately disappointed. I had read great reviews about their shortribs eggs benedict over cornbread. Turns out the cornbread is really sweet and the ribs are nothing special. The yolks of the poached eggs were not runny at all, and the dish was only topped with a spoonful of hollandaise. On the upside the restaurant had a great atmosphere. I'd be willing to come back and try again, maybe ordering a less hyped up dish. |

11/03/2014 3:22 pmFresh food, great atmosphere and friendly, attentive service. We went for breakfast after my daughter's wedding and Chase, our waiter, was engaging and very friendly. He explained that much of the food came from a local farm, and was prepared fresh. This was very evident once it arrived at our table hot, fresh and very tasty. |
