Crowne Plaza, Madison, Wisconsin Restaurant Details

Food:

Rooms were just average. AC didn't work in our 1st room. 2nd room after a switch was barely better.

Hotel staff was below average. Housekeeping and maintenance were having a very loud obnoxious conversation outside my room. I also believe this hotel discrimates guests based on how much you paid for your room and how you booked your room. Use a discount site and you get the worst room in the place and will not get the room type requested. I have seen this practice too many times over the years and strongly believe this is the case at this location.

Overall, a very below average stay at this hotel and would not book again.

Food:

Room was good. Breakfast was good. Front desk in the morning seemed fairly apathetic, like we were an inconvenience. Wait staff in the restaurant at breakfast was outstanding! No fridge in room.

After recent renovations, this is a great value and a wonderful place to stay. Location is accessible to the interstate with numerous nearby dining options. Service was friendly, beds are comfortable, WiFi is fast and free, and new televisions are full HD.

I have stayed here unwillingly for years. Over 40 nights. Rooms are moldy and foul above the pool. In the summer the air conditioning is very weak. In the winter it is too warm and the air does not work. Windows don't open... this place would be worth it if it were the Aloha Motel. But it is a Crowne! Best Western, Motel 6, Red Roof Inn are all better than this dump. But the beds are comfy and they have a good beer selection at the bar.
