Great harbor view but somehow the Daily Catch in Allston is better than this one.

I actually wrote a letter to management after my lunch here - that's a first! I am much more inclined to write positive reviews and I don't like complaining - but six weeks later I still have not received any response, and I wanted to warn others. If they can't be good to their customers, they don't deserve more of them. Save yourself the frustration and go to one of the many other great restaurants in Boston.

So here it goes...the ambiance is great. We sat outside on the patio with nice views of the water. That was about the only good thing about our experience. The waiter was friendly enough, but not very knowledgeable, and extremely slow. When we finally got our food (a very light lunch - 2 drinks, garlic bread, and a pasta dish and salad to split), the ingredients in the pasta dish were not what we had been told. We asked for linguine and got penne, the vegetables were different than what the waiter told us, the serving size was very small, and the dish only mediocre. We didn't complain since it'd already taken so long and we were hungry! We were still not full after lunch (and we're usually pretty light eaters).

Not only that, but after about 20 minutes of waiting with our empty plates in front of us (mind you, it was not busy at all!), the waiter came back, apologized for taking so long, cleared our plates, and then we waited another absurdly long time before walking inside to pay the bill. He never brought it to the table, and again apologized, but I have no idea what caused the hold up because there were only a couple of other customers. I thought the charge was very high (around $60) for what we had, but we had both had it and wanted to get out of there. I was annoyed that we could have had a really nice lunch for that price!

The next day on their website, I saw that our pasta dish was listed at $8.95 and we were charged $17! No wonder. So I actually wrote a letter. I thought they could at least reimburse me the extra charge on the very small, not very tasty, plate of pasta that left us hungry. To this day I have still received no response. I'll never go back, and I'll tell others not to bother!

Love the black pasta.
Whenever we have a guests from out of town, we take them to this restaurant.
Compare to other Daily Catch locations, this place has relatively easier parking.
Service is quick.

A Sicilian seafood restaurant - better than many of the Italian restaurants that you will find in the North End. I was very happy with the Sicilian fisherman's stew and a pan of their homemade black noodles, capers, and anchovies.

Many of the plates are served in the pan they were cooked in, which has the advantage of allowing you to eat every drop of delicious bit of fat that your food was cooked in.

The almond biscotti was a cheap but delicious dessert.

I ate dinner here with a party of 10 people Saturday, 10/3/2015. The staff organized adjacent parties to sit practically on top off us even with open tables all over the restaurant. We politely asked if it was possible have the party being sat on top of us to be moved elsewhere, nothing was done other than offering apologies. It is in the city, I can understand space is tight but with other areas of the restaurant open. They could have planned a lot better. Being that half our party was seated on the wall, one side of the table was blocked from exiting due to guests seated at the table next too us. That is how tightly they packed this particular corner of the restaurant.

While we were finishing our meal a waitress from the adjacent table reprimanded a member of our party for asking guests from her table to get up so she could exit the restaurant with her infant child. This was a problem the staff created and failed to address, not ours. The waitress’ comments were loud, rude, and far from courteous. Our party remained polite trying not to disturb anyone else trying to have a nice dinner.

I wish I could tell you about the food but the experience provided by this staff made me so angry I was unable to fully enjoy it, along with the bottles of wine our table ordered. In a city with a lot of great restaurants, you would be better served elsewhere.
