Reading the menu on the street, Isaac came out and greeted us, made jokes, told us our table was ready. Came in and spent the next 2.5 hours enjoying great food, great service and wonderful ambience. Everything was perfect - the creme brulee was to DIE FOR! Then took a selfie on the street with Isaac again! Wish I could give it more than 5 stars!

Dalesio has been a family favorite for many years: really great food, pleasant atmosphere, good service. We've, alas, had two disappointments in a row in recent months: not sure if there's been a change of chef or ownership or just what has gone awry. Our most recent visit, we got a salmon dinner with lobster sauce that looked wonderful and very promising... and then turned out to have been oversalted (a complaint with neighboring and currently closed-for-renovation Della Notte: did they borrow the staff?). The lunch menu was universally served with marinara sauce: bit rough on those of us not so keen on tomatoes (but do ask for an alternative. Alas, the alfredo sauce was ALSO rather salty. Eh?). Their limoncello also tasted like it was made from a mix rather than an authentic made-in-house beverage, very much at odds with the homemade quality of their pastas and seafood dishes.
I made good Italian at home and liked going to Dalesio because it was a place that outperformed me routinely. Now I seem to be doing better than them, and that's disappointing. I hope things turn around and go back to fabulous again. In the meantime, do ask them to go light on the salt and maybe that will do the trick.
