"Fantastic, elegant" cooking and a "lively, energetic" vibe mean this "upscale" Midtown Korean tapas specialist remains a "tough table to get" (brace for an "interminable wait"); a pleasant "pared-down" setting and capable – if slightly "indifferent" – service help ensure it's a "fun place to be."

A great concept executed well. Danji's small, medium and large plates do not fail to impress. My wife and I particularly liked the bulgogi sliders, pork belly sliders and bosan pork. The kimchi went well with the dishes, as well as the sangria! They could ease up on the salt with the cod but aside from that, everything was excellent! The waiters were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Definitely a good find and highly recommended!

Tofu was quite good with a soft, almost creamy texture contrasting with crispy panko. Sliders and bibimbap were great but standard fare. Cozy place.

Excellent food. I had the tofu, which is the best I've ever had, the pork belly, and the spicy cucumber. Good beers available. The hostess seemed friendly and energetic but the staff I interacted could have been friendlier and more helpful. One waitress asked me if I wanted anything else (after serving me a beer) and when I said no she promptly handed me the cheque/bill which I find quite rude.

This is a small restaurant - meaning if you're going anytime between 6:30 and 9 p.m. you'll probably have to wait for a table, or sit at the bar.

That being said, the food is consistently delicious - something difficult to find this close to Times Square. The sliders and wings are a favorite as well as the tofu with ginger scallion dressing. I'm not a vegetarian and I always order the tofu... you know it's good.

ProTip: Come early or late, or definitely grab seats at the bar to minimize your wait time - the wait staff behind the bar is friendly and attentive.

The restaurant is small, and the wait can be long. Seating is at communal tables with menus interestingly in little drawers at each place setting. Danji presents it's food tapas style and 4 to 5 plates will definitely fill 2 people up. Their cocktail menu is great and there's a choice for everyone with cocktails containing soju or saki. For tapas plates I'd definitely recommend the bulgogi beef sliders, the bossam, and the kim chi fried rice with fried egg on top.
