04/09/2016 2:33 amWalked in asked hostess to sit at bar she said go ahead there were two seats left both occupied by large women's purses so walked out. Hostess asked why I was leaving and explained she directed me to no available seating. She said I should try a second bar and walked to the other bar and ordered encrusted filet without the skin and chef said no. I told them I will then just have a salad. The bartender told kitchen to we work for the customer. I reordered redfish with the skin removed and it was great. Why does a paying customer have to work so hard to pay for a meal while fighting for a parking spot watching for tow trucks while the restaurant creates a bad experience without knowing I will not return. When will they learn I can stay home and make the same meal for less without the drive, parking, drama, happy in my own skin. No manager to instruct chef. Sad I tip so well for futile post in virtual abyss. |

02/06/2016 6:01 pmHad reservations for eight, at Danton's, on Sunday during brunch hours. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated within 3 minutes of entering. The live jazz band was decent and offered nice background music. Our waitress was friendly and took good care of us. We ordered multiple pitchers of mimosas, boudin balls, crab legs, and calamari. Everything was perfectly seasoned and they took into consideration any food allergies our group had. I ordered a cup of seafood gumbo for my main course; it was spicy and full of seafood. Overall Danton's is a great place to have brunch. |

01/09/2016 11:38 pmWe had a party of 8, two being children. Called ahead because of statements on their menu about a 20% charge and no splitting of tickets for groups of 7 or more. The manager was rude and asked if the children would be eating...are you kidding me? Living on the Gulf Coast there are plenty of seafood places to go to that aren't ridiculously obtuse. |

11/03/2015 5:20 pmGumbo was not impressive in the slightest. Even Captain Tom's is better. Upscale Oyster bar? Not worth it when the service isn't even there. Not as attentive as I would like. Maybe because we got a trainee serving our table. He must have been nervous. $14 for puny size oysters that are supposedly in season. I don't think I would go back unless it's for happy hour and even then...sigh. I also had the catfish po-boy which was good, but it was small. It probably feed you if you weren't that hungry. I won't come back because I was not impressed. |
