Darling's, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Restaurant Details

Darling's decor, 24/7 service, and full bar are definitely perks, but sadly can't make up for the overpriced and underwhelming food and drinks. When I go to a diner, I want decent food for a good price. Unfortunately Darlings offers neither of those things. Drinks - mostly made from mixes - can't rival the handcrafted cocktails found at the numerous bars across the street and down the block. And their cheesecake - a point of pride for them - tastes like it's made with jello, masking the interesting and creative flavors. Their breakfast is solid, standard diner breakfast, but can't compete in flavor (or frankly price) with the fantastic brunch restaurants in the area.

Me and my husband went there to have a normal breakfeast. He order 2 sunny side up eggs and home fries and toast. the cook there does not know how to cook eggs. my husband eggs had layers of oil on it even his plate, and the eggs also still had yolk not cooked right. The home fires wasnt even home fries they were potato tots the ones they use to serve in public school lunches. My husband refuse to eat the order so we gave it back to the waitress. as a servent i wouldn't serve a customers food like that. I order two scramble eggs with one slice of cheese and toast with jam. The waitress took our order for drinks got it wrong and me and my husband was the only one there.my food was extremely oily with no jam. The order for two eggs and toast and nasty tots with two orange jucies came up to 16.99. If i knew my food was gonna be like that i would rather eat mcdonald's because food and service was really bad.

Service was excellent! 2 nites in a row i got the same rocking waitress who was attentive in chaos and when slow and steady. Monet was quick and sassy sweet. Next time i'm in Phili i'll b here

Darling's Diner was a big disappointment, Food is very bland, bacon was like biting into a potato chip that's how hard it was. We waited for 15 min for someone to find us a seat in a half crowed dinning room and server keep bringing us the wrong things. So many good places in this area, stay away!

Why did this place only avg 3 stars before me? It's awesome! Albeit I only had the cheesecake (which was awesome, and a good portion for the price). The atmosphere was great too! Very nice and upbeat. And they serve drinks! The one thing I can think of is that the street outside is a bit sketchy but it is relatively nice for that area.
