Wow, wow and... WOW!! First of all, I don't know how I missed this food cart for so many years. On the other hand, I am so glad I discovered it this week.

I have been there everyday this week and the vegan subs are the very best I've ever had outside of my own kitchen.

First, I had their world-famous Steak & Cheese sub. It was a very cold and rainy day in Portland and this wonderfully warm, huge and delicious sub warmed me to my soul. It's their best seller for a reason. Don't miss this one.

Being Italian, cold vegan subs are one of my all-time fav meals. DC's cold Italian Sub is not only the very best I have ever had, it was the biggest and most delicious too. The mixture of vegan meats, cheese, veggies and the toasted bun all reminded me of childhood at the local deli. I could eat two of these a day for life.

Yesterday, I was at the food cart twice, once for breakfast, once for lunch. The Breakfast Sandwich #2 is their most popular for many reasons. The vegan sausage, which I don't usually care for, was masterfully delicious will all the right flavor. The tofu patty was on point, yummy and dank. That held me until lunch. I then got the Steak & Cheese once more to warm me up from the cold rain. It did the job once again. For the second time, I was so full and very satisfied.

I am going back for two Italian Subs today. One for lunch - one for after. It's really that good.

So sad they will be on a two-week holiday after today, but I do look forward to being their number one customer when they return.

If you love vegan / vegetarian subs, soups and sandwiches (there's also homemade vegan desserts for only two bucks), this is the place for you!!!

In closing, I'd like to add how friendly the owners are - even though they are very busy there, they always take time to talk with me.

Six stars (out of five) !!'

Food is good, but gluten free bread is an extra $1 and is smaller than normal bread. This means that if you want gluten free you are paying an extra $1 for a sandwich half the size.

It's cool that they have breakfast (their breakfast sandwiches are excellent), but some days they randomly don't show up and you might go to work assuming you'll get breakfast there only to find yourself hungry and grumpy all morning with just a "sorry for the inconvenience sign" for solace.
