06/21/2008 7:42 pmI live in the neighborhood, and really wish there were a good diner here. It's under new management as "Cesar's diner," and it's really gone downhill since it was the Deluxe (which was passable). I walked in at 11:00 on a saturday morning (not very crowded, and didn't feel busy). it was "seat yourself," which i did, and then waited 10 minutes for my order to be taken. it took 20 minutes to get an omelet and some potatoes. just a glass of coke took 10 minutes. the omelet was over done, and the potatoes were soggy. the toast was slightly warm, and not "toasted." so i finished eating, and then asked for a chocolate shake. 5 minutes later, the waitress came by and asked if i needed anything. yeah, how about my shake? another 5 minutes later, i got a half a glass of chocolate milk covered up with half a glass of cool-whip. (they had the gut to charge $5 for that.....for $5 i want a real milkshake made with icecream in a blender/mixer) while i was sitting there, i saw a woman not eat a hamburger, which the staff just took away without offering her anything else, and then charged her. i saw another person send back their toast, because their's wasn't toasted, either. and at least one other plate went back (don't know what it was). awful awful awful. go to the sports pub next door, or mcdonalds up the block (yuck, but still better), or just skip breakfast and go to kabob palace for lunch. |
