Best shrimp poboy in Baton Rouge! Packed with big shrimp, not small gumbo shrimp like some places. Great poboy bread. Fast and friendly service. Can't wait to go back.

I was so excited that there was a Dempsey's close to work, as the one we used to eat at on Jefferson closed. (We loved it!) So I order a lunch to pick up for myself and a few coworkers. When I arrived, I waited at the counter for 5 minutes before I finally asked one of the four people that had been behind the counter if I was in the right place to pick up orders. I had to remind them I had drinks (As they were going to send me off without them) and the girl helping me seemed really annoyed that I wanted my drinks that I had payed for! I was told my order would be ready in 20 minutes when I ordered it, but it took over 30 all together. On top of that, I seemed to have been waiting for cold food.
This was such a huge disappointment. The food, though cold, was still good... however, I was so disappointed with the service there I will not be going back.

Horrible service. Took a long time to be acknoleged by wait staff. So we left. Never got waited on. Next time we went in, again, had horrible service and food was cold when arrived to the table.. They couldn't get away with quality of service at fast food restaurants. Im not going back...

I received horrible service at the Dempsey's in Pville. I ended up leaving before we got our entrées it was so bad. The gumbo was great, but the fried veggies were soggy and greasy. We left before our main meal came because the service was so terrible.

This is a family owned business that has its ups and downs. Can be crowded, ceilings are low, and noisy. Or, it can be 1/3 full, pleasant, good service. It is certainly a neighborhood restaurant that has many regulars. The food is quite good, but I agree that with other comments that the fries are sometimes not fresh.

I go early or late to the meal . . . never at peak hours. Good food and good value.
