11/04/2010 7:18 pmI'll have to say that the best part about this place is the atmosphere. Low lighting and a "homey" feel makes interaction with the other guests entertaining. I'll have to admit that the food wasn't anything to write home about, but its not bad. |

05/30/2010 3:47 pmComing from a city who knows their Italian food, and BEING Italian myself, this was comparable to a low-quality, Olive Garden type entrees. Though the atmosphere was romantic and intimate, I almost felt uncomfortable when the server admitted that they did not have several things on their menu, including asparagus. Who doesn't have asparagus?? Go to the grocery store and buy some if you don't. Not to mention they told another table that they "ran out of wine glasses" when I and probably two other people were the only ones using the glasses in the whole restaurant. In my opinion, the only thing that was good was the capresi salad. But again, I could get that at any Italian restaurant. So if you're coming to San Antonio for food, I'd stick with the TexMex and skip the Italian. I would not recommend this place to anyone that knows their Italian food! |

09/01/2009 7:53 pmHusband and I went for our anniversary on a slow Monday night. Had the whole place to ourselves for two hours before folks started coming in, and the staff treated us like rock stars. The pianist there that night, Tony Lara, was fantastic, and played our favorite jazz tunes on request as was our waiter Bill (or Frank, depending if he was in trouble ;-). Good food, too - the salad was scrumptious and the eggplant parm delish. Highly recommend for the fantastic, almost noir-ish atmosphere. |
