Food:

I went here based on the stellar reviews and ordered a chili relleno. this should be an Anaheim pepper stuffed with cheese and sometimes a protein. it came to my table and looked like a pancake. how do you make a pepper perfectly round and flat?

I have termed this a McRelleno. worst food, much less mexican food ive ever had.
They then proceed to charge me for it anyway.

Save your taste buds and money and go to Taqueria Castillo in the Tenderloin.

Great customer service... All waiters where right on it!!.Super quick service... Got our meal in done in less then 10 minutes!! Would definitely recommend it to anyone!!

Awesome atmosphere; casual, with colorful streamers above where you sit. This is a bit of a hidden gem compared to the usual SoMa fare. It's family owned, with friendly staff that come in to hangout at the bar on their day off (always a good sign!). The food was delicious. The tortilla chips and salsa they start you off with are also tasty. I highly recommend the jalapeño cucumber margarita. The menu is a bit on the expensive side for a casual Mexican restaurant, but I imagine that's probably a requirement to cover their rent.

I stumbled upon this place while waiting for someone's class to end at Yoga Flow around the corner, and what do you know, I discovered a Mexican Food gem! This place had a surprisingly warm and cozy atmosphere, with a wonderfully enthusiastic staff. This lady, who introduced herself to my rambunctious three year old as "Lee" and whom I assume is the owner, was the the inspiration for this review. I was seated at a table just with my son, and she I was placing more energy into getting him to eat than to enjoy my own meal, so she came over and started chatting with him. Her approach got him excited about eating the food as well, which was delicious! I had a Carne Asada Burrito that was full of flavor, and my son enjoyed a stripped chicken Quesadilla. I definitely recommend checking this place out. Thank you Lee!!
