Dos Perros, Durham, North Carolina, Vegan-friendly Restaurant Details

Food:

The menu has interesting options and, while tasty, they aren't spectacular. The meats we ordered were overdone and a little stringy. The service was good, though. I'd like to see Durham become more competitive with its restaurants, though, with higher quality food at affordable prices like you see with some of the more locally-oriented restaurants downtown like Bull City or Pompeii Pizzeria next door.

They don't have a full menu. The only mexican food they have is Guacamole. They only serve brunch on Sundays. Don't waste your time

It seems to me that this resturant would do well to reconsider their management as nearly all enjoy the food but the few horrible experiences are over one glaring flaw- the manager. My husband and I arrived to eat lunch and were received with the back of the manager who let us stand for several minutes un-greeted. The other staff seemed friendly enough. The manager Finally showed us in after his bar staff welcomed us from across the entrance.. He said something under his breath as he awkwardly sat us to a table. While we waited for our food to arrive the manager had his lunch in front of the guests-- not sure if that is something normally done-- whatever.. He was obviously moody and inhospitable. Our food was good- hard to enjoy it more once we were already put off.

I came in during lunch hour one day and when I walked in I recieved a puzzled look from management and they gave me an akward welcome and I was not asked would I like to be seated.Which was really wierd. I had to tell them I was here for lunch. It maybe because I had on sweats and wasnt like their typical corporate crowd. The waiter and the food was great though.

We held our wedding reception (luncheon for 120) here a couple weeks ago. Then entire Dos Perros staff, especially Mary and Raul, were incredibly helpful throughout the process. Our guests raved about how wonderful the food and drinks were! They created a warm, welcoming space for our wedding reception! We've also eaten here several other times and enjoyed great food and service each time.
