The hamburgers here are pretty good. I really enjoyed The Duffy Burger with a slice of sweet ham and Swiss cheese. The staff is friendly and good at what they do. The prices are a good value. You can get out under $10 for lunch without much effort.

My wife and I visited Duffy's for breakfast over Thanksgiving weekend with family that has been eating here for years.

I ordered the Eggs Benedict and hashbrowns which was served with more Hollandaise sauce than egg, bacon, and muffin - apparently the cook likes Hollandaise sauce much more than I do, so I'll overlook this for the most part.

My wife ordered an omlette with hashbrowns. Her omlette arrived at the table cold, which is harder for me to overlook than a matter of taste. The omlette was reheated upon request. Both of our hashbrowns were merely lukewarm.

Once everyone was finished, it took a considerable amount of time for the check to arrive at our table.

I've certainly been to places with worse food, and much worse service - hence my reason for only offering 3 stars. This place could be worse, but it also could be a lot better - and based on the opinions of family, this place has been a lot better in the past.

So since you disabled reviews from your facebook, comments, and wall posts from facebook, and have removed every single negative post from your facebook, I will take it to google, yelp, and fox8.

Pro tip #1 - Don't serve raw hamburger to a 4 year old.
Pro tip #2 - Don't attempt to microwave raw hamburger and reserve.
Pro tip #3 - Don't send a waitress to handle a customer complaint.
Pro tip #4 - Don't let management hide outside while an angry guest is forced to pay for food that would literally make her child physically ill if consumed.
Pro tip #5 - Don't remove posts from facebook, even if they are negative. The following shitshow will bring MUCH worse your way.

Have fun dealing with this backlash and the subsequent inquiries from the Department of Health.

On June 27th, I went into Duffys with my mom, four year old and six month old. We have been customers for a long time, and it was even one of our entire extended families favorite places to go. We have never had any issues with them, yet is has probably been about a year since we did go in there. So, as any other time, we were seated. We ordered a child’s cheeseburger for my son. When his food came, we let him put his ketchup and mustard on it, and he started to eat it. To our surprise, he didn’t like it, and when we looked, the entire middle of this child’s cheeseburger was red and raw. I have heard of grown men eating medium or medium rare burgers, but with a four year old who has never had raw meat in his life, we saw this as a threat to his health. We politely asked for a replacement burger, as his already had condiments on it, and they brought back the same burger, same bun, with hardened cheese and condiments on it from being cooked again. The worst of it was the fact that the burger was still not done and still had spots of red in it. I have worked in food, and one way to get bacteria to flood food is to bring it up to temp and repeatedly cool and cook it again. Needless to say, I was not about to have my son eat that. We then politely said that we did not want it, to take it off the bill or replace it with something else.
This is when the day turned sour. The waitress, who I do not have the name of (as she did not introduce herself, nor was it on the receipt) told us that she simply was not in charge of taking an order off of the receipt and that she would talk with her manager. She then comes back to the table, shrugs and says “boss lady refused to take it off the bill, sorry”. I asked who the manager was, and she scoffs that the manager is behind the bar. I get up to go and speak with the manager, and upon me approaching the bar, she runs outside to the patio area. I sit and wait for a second, then decide to follow her to discuss the matter.
I was not rude. I was not running around the restaurant like a crazy person. I did not raise my voice. I wanted to simply speak to management, show her the unacceptable food so that she could take proper steps to talk with her staff and possibly retrain someone in the kitchen. The burger being on the bill, was a concern, but was not my biggest issue.
When I got up to go outside to talk to the manager (mind you, it was not an “employee only” door, it goes outside to outdoor seating for customers), another waitress, who I found out was Penny, came up to me and yelled at, not asked, me to go back to my booth, and that I was not allowed to wait for a manager, and that she would send someone else to come “deal with me”. Then, another waitress, who has no authority in the establishment either, came over, heard my story, and says “sorry” and hands us a bill. I asked what the name of the manager that refused to speak to me was, and her name is Laura.
This is unacceptable customer service. Not only were they serving raw meat to a child, but they had a “manager” that refused to talk to an unhappy customer. Had an incident like this happened at any well maintained business, taking something off the bill or replacing it would have been a common courtesy, and that would have ended the whole incident. I then went on to review them on their Facebook page, and come to find out that they are deleting the negative posts made on their page. I told my story on there, and re posted it three times. They then blocked me from posting to their page when I am just trying to get an honest review on there. Not only were my posts deleted, but there was not even a reply to it. No apology for the horrible service given by someone in management. No acknowledgment to their mistake. I will not return to this establishment. I am not asking for a refund. I am not asking for anything free. But people should know that the staff is nice and hospitable until there is any form of complaint.
