Our waitress served a cup of coffee, which had lip stick on the cup. When I call her to the table for replacement of the cup. Before I mentioned what was wrong, she said,"Lip Stick!". The cup was facing me, she couldn't have seen the problem, but she knew. Humm. .. she didn't say one word to us after, nor she didn't bring our check or didn't get the order correct. And charge for coffee refills, which we refused.

Great restaurant,

I like the atmosphere of the place not just the people working there also the locals have good manners, everyone was nice I felt right at home and that is a lot to say.

Im not from the U.S. I was on vacation in Sarasota and enjoyed the experience. The food was nice I ordered breakfast a little late in the day and was happy with the size of the portions. The waitress took my order fast and didn't mind my weird accent.

To future clients don't trust in bad reviews give it a try It is a local place with nice food to try worth your visit.

I have been a fan of Dutch Valley since I started going as a child with my parents every summer while visiting Sarasota. The service is usually very good and the food is always delicious. The menu offers a variety of options, all of which are freshly prepared.

I don't understand the recent negative review and I disagree completely with the assertions that the restaurant is old and overrated. It is, in fact a unique spot for wholesome, homemade food and should not be compared to greasy diners and the like. This accusation trite and simply not true. Go, try it and see for yourself.

I don't know why that person rates this place so badly, because it is one of the best places to go if you want delicious food that is as close (or better) than home cooking. Great prices and fantastic service. We got there often and always enjoy the ample servings and terrific

Dutch Valley, the place where taste buds go to die.

I honestly do not understand the positive reviews of this restaurant. The best, most honest comparison I can make is to a high school cafeteria in the 1970s. The salad was a few shreds of iceberg lettuce with a few strands of carrots. Dessert options were old school items like jello and bland puddings.

I went there with my wife, my sister and her husband. The food tasted like it was from the freezer and thawed just before coming to our table. Nothing here tastes freshly made. I had the all you can eat fish special. It was some of the worst fried fish I've had in a long, long time. If there was any seasoning on the meals beyond just salt and pepper, I would be very surprised.

Most of the patrons in the restaurant appeared to be over 70. I can only believe that this has led to the number of positive reviews. Although there is something to be said for a classic diner, this restaurant is an example of why so many of those foods went out of fashion. I have eaten at many greasy spoons and diners that are far superior to this restaurant.

Avoid Dutch Valley. Go somewhere where they actually know how to season.
