A "cozy", "neighborhood spot", this Inglewooder whips up a "varied menu" of midpriced, "always-excellent" American standards, often from "local ingredients"; staffers "bend over backwards to please" a crowd that runs from "folks in suits" to "families in jeans and tees", and the "beautiful patio in the back" is a warm-weather bonus.

We went for Valentine's Day. There was a smaller, four course menu. We were seated 40 minutes after our reservation, but due to the ridiculous holiday, we didn't mind. The first and 3rd courses were 5/5 stars. A little slow, but genuinely well thought out and well executed. The 2nd course was cold. Our waiter let us know that some of the first round of reservations were late and ended up pushing back the rest of the night. The 4th/dessert course was....special. We both ordered the Swiss cake roll. His was round, mine was square and there was a notable taste difference. After passing the kitchen, I heard the kitchen staff say, " We need you to go get more Little Debbie's from Kroger". I wish I was kidding. This would all be forgivable if they kept the drinks flowing, but that was slow despite only ordering beer and wine.

It was the first time all the family met in Nashville July 2014. I contacted Open Table and there were 8 of us. Eastland made us a private table on the patio and catered to our every need. The food was everything we heard it was. We were super impressed. I thank Eastland for their Quality and attention to detail. The price was very good and our kids were super raving about it. It is a small drive from downtown, worth the cab ride. It felt very intimate and although we were in the big city, we felt at home. Thanks again. Highly Recommend!!!!!!

Wonderfully and friendly staff. Got us in on a Saturday night a little before 6 PM by putting us at a table with a 7:30 reservation. Our waiter Jeff was attentive and helpful.

The tomato and crab bisque was outstanding as were the main courses. Everything tasted fresh and the fish special was superb.

The next time we are back in Nashville we will go back.

UPDATE...The manager, Henry, reached out to me after my below review, which in itself is so impressive to me. What a class act. He wanted us to give Eastland Cafe another try and bought our entrees and and an appetizer. Everything we ate was delicious (scallop and oyster apps, NY strip and pan seared shrimp entrees). The service was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back.

New to Nashville, just went to check it out for happy hour. We found it slightly pretentious for the happy hour crowd anyway. When we arrived at 5pm, we were ignored by the hostess and waiter at the hostess stand who were busy looking at something on the screen. So we meandered towards the bar, looking around until a waiter took pity on us and explained we should go back to the hostess stand to be seated. We told the hostess we were only there for happy hour and she very loudly and abrasively, asked if we had a reservation. For happy hour? Why YES, of COURSE (hmmm). She embarrassed us in front of other waiting and seated customers, for not knowing. I quietly said that obviously we were new in town and I looked at the other customers listening with a shrug and an incredulous "is this really necessary?" look in my eye. She changed her tone but set it for us. I hear the the dinner entrees etc. are really good but we probably won't go back even though drinks, apps and service were good. To much competition out there folks!
