I've been going here since I was a child. No other deli beats it! If you haven't already, try their crumb cake. You will NOT regret it!

I used to work at Edelweiss. I am an ex career military wife, and lived in Germany for 4 years. I thought this job would be a good fit, temporarily. Unfortunately, the owners are very racist. I am a legal citizen here, yet because I happen to be of Puerto Rican descent and they hire illegal immigrants, they thought that I was also an immigrant. I quickly found out that they use and abuse their immigrant help and discriminated against me in many ways. I ended up walking out when one of the owners, a very bitter racist woman, chewed me out for absolutely no reason except to try and make me lower than she was, and it all happened in the presence of a customer. I bit my tongue, and was in tears until the customer left, then I walked out. (the customer felt really bad for me after experiencing that). I have never been discriminated in such an in your face, way like that in my life. I would not recommend this deli to anyone....not unless you don't mind giving your hard earned money to racist, ignorant people.

Oh now the owner, David, decides he doesn't know who I am!! Well Mr. David, I think you do know who I am and are just trying to save your reputation....it is me Joyce Colon....remember me??? Of course not, because I meant nothing to you or your little family.....Sister, Mother and Father, brother, yes I remember them all!!! And David, you were racist!! I used to go out of my way to please not only you but the rest of your family....I am very proud of my work!!! But you and your family treated me like crap!! And so did one of your long time workers!!! You don't remember me?? Well I remember you and your family very well, and I will never forget you, because I have never been treated like that in my life anywhere that I worked!!! Let me give you a hint: I lived right down the street and your prep cook (an illegal immigrant) introduced me to you! Yes I am the Puerto Rican girl who was an ex military wife and lived in Germany 4 yrs. You wouldn't know that because you wouldn't be bothered to know who I was or anything about me!! And yes, I know how to speak German and understand it as well....but u would never know that.....let me also respond to the person who said the owner's sister was very rude and nasty....yes she is, she was the one who chewed me out in front of a customer and tried to make me lower than she was!! Well that was when I had enough and walked out!!! Try real hard David, ask your brother as well, I am sure if you do, you will remember very well who I was......it is just a shame that there are racist people like you and your family still in 2011!!!

I won't lie, the prices are a little high, but I don't mind paying it for the excellent service I receive! Every morning I am greeted with a smile and friendly conversation. The owners always make guests feel welcomed and cared for. So happy to see a true mom and pop deli last in the town, they truly deserve it.
