Edgar's, Akron, Ohio Restaurant Details

Food:

Had good reviews. BIG Disappointment! I got there signature dish smoked prime rib. It was simply the worst prime rib I've ever been served. Two thirds fat. Could not even eat it. We also had smoked chicken and barbeques beef tips. Chicken was dry and beef tips far from satisfactory. I would not reccomend!!!

My husband and I frequent Edgar's, because the food and atmosphere are fantastic. We have been there no fewer than 50 times. The only time I have had questionable service is when the server is new and learning. The owner and chef, Glenn, is so personable and comes out of the kitchen every night to greet diners and thank them for coming in. He has some unique, and some more traditional, menu offerings, all of which are fantastic, I cannot imagine how anyone could find this Akron gem anything but cozy, relaxing and delightful. Also, in the summer outdoor seating overlooks the golf course - not a parking lot like most NE Ohio restaurants. You cannot go wrong at Edgar's. It's my very favorite restaurant!!!!

Food:

It was beautiful evening and we sat on the patio overlooking the golf course. The waitress was very attentive. We had ribs and the jerk salmon. The ribs absolutely fell off the bone and were delicious. The salmon was also very good with black beans and rice. Finally the prices are outstanding, particularly the wine by the bottle prices.

Great food. If you don't mind waiting 50 mins for your appetizer and who knows how long for your main course. We walked out before we got our dinner so I can't give you a time on that. That

Slow. Typical. Service so-so. I expected food I could not make at home.
I guess this is the best quality you will find in Akron.
