05/05/2015 2:54 pmSadly, this great restaurant is closed due to the economy. Thank you Harold for all you do and have done. Signed, one of the girls from across the street. We are going to miss the annual sour beef celebration of mom's birthday and we are going to miss you. |

12/24/2013 6:09 pmIf you have a family with young children, DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! We have an au pair from Germany that we wanted to take out to a German restaurant. We traveled 90 mins up from Chesapeake Beach, swung by the German Christmas Market, in the Inner Harbor, then headed over to Eichenkranz for dinner. Let me first start by saying that we were a little skeptical going there from the reviews we had read, but had no other options in the Baltimore area. We even called the restaurant and asked the person that answered the phone, if young children were ok. In their own words; "we are a family restaurant, and yes, young children are welcome". So as we entered the restaurant around 7:30pm on a Monday night, we noted there were three tables of guests (a table of 3, table of 8-10 and a table of 4). As we walked inside the second set of doors, I noticed one of the guests looking at us and shaking their heads when they saw our little girls. My wife simultaneously noticed the waitress, as she was helping another table, look over and roll her eyes when she saw us, letting out what appeared to be a deep breathe. About two minutes later she came over to us and told us that she could seat us but she didn't when she would be able to get us. There was no smile, just a look of inconvenience. We immediately felt extremely uninvited and politely excused ourselves and told the waitress we would go somewhere else for dinner. As we left, she said "don't let them see you leave or I will get in trouble". |

09/25/2013 1:15 pmScottie DRocks must be smoking crack rocks! I have visited this establishment for years. This is an old established neighborhood restaurant in a residential neighborhood on the Canton / Highlandtown border.. Definitely not the Hood! As far as his bread being hard, I have had the bread and it is freshly baked with a crispy crust. Butter is usually firm, not melted. NOW the real thing that surprised me is Scottie said it was expensive!! HE definitely must be smoking crack rocks! The average dinner plate entree price is like $10! That is expensive??? Gimme a break! Scottie stick to McDonalds dude! I guess haters will be haters!! |
