Any time I'm in the Bronx I make sure to swing by this place for their pressed steak sandwiches ($6.50) and beef stew over rice ($7). If you plan on getting the sandwiches make sure to call ahead and pick up because it could take up to half an hour to make.

For the price can't be beat. One of the best place of this type in the city - pernil, goat stew all the Latin favorites done right

I stop in here whenever I'm in the neighborhood for empanadas. They make them fresh to order, they always hit the spot, and best of all, they're only $1 each! The service can be a bit distracted and abrupt, but the food makes up for it.
