I'm a forever fan of this place! Been going to Ella's for over 35 years here and when there was one downtown. Love the Matzo ball soup, as well as the lox and cream cheese on bagel. But really it's my son's favorite place to get ice cream, of course.

Don't go for a spectacular adult experience & fantastic food. This place is for children & odds are they won't be disappointed. Plenty of eye candy, real candy, deli food, ice cream & carousel. Prices are a tad high-maybe that's to cover the electric bill?

If being surrounded in a loud, model carnival/circus ambiance is your thing, you might ... ugh, who am I kidding? The food is crap. The ice cream is mediocre. Every surface you touch is sticky.

You'd think that a "deli" that promises the "Midwest's best reuben sandwich, for over 55 years" would at least live up to a level of mediocrity, but two bites into a sauerkraut sandwich on sourdough, lightly seasoned with a slice of corned beef, left me physically upset that anyone would serve that to a paying customer. And then you see the price ... $9.10 for a slice of corned beef on bread? Really?

1 star deserves at least something nice said ... we had a lot of ... napkins ... I guess. They stuck to the sticky surfaces.

First off, this place is an assault on the eyes and ears for adults. It's charming in a way, but also overwhelming. It is a restaurant catered toward kids. They have a bunch of old timey amusement park figurines in action and flying around the restaurant.

The worst thing about this place was the menu. It is huge and overwhelming! It took me quite a while to choose what to order due to the size of the menu. This is typically a bad thing in restaurant because they stretch themselves too thin to try and make everything.

I ended up ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. It was actually all pretty tasty. Not sure if it was made fresh or not, but the meat loaf and gravy were the best part of the plate. A friend of mine got the cheese curds, they seem pretty basic out of the bag deep fried cheese curds.

I probably won't go back because I was not a huge fan of the decoration and all the noise that came with the decoration.

This place was fun. Food was good. The whole place was a carnival (pun intended). Kids were cute with some of their reactions. Would go again. Yes it was pricey but so is everything else these days. Some of the items on the menu were like "Are you kidding? Lox and cream cheese, Gefilte Fish, Chopped livers and tongue." That was unusual but great!
