Customer service was great but could have been better not athentic Mexican food

Went to On The Border in Addison on a Sunday. This is the first time I've been to On the Border in almost 10 years due to living in states without it. I was greeted promptly and even had a nice conversation with the host since it wasn't busy. My server quickly arrived and introduced herself (Morghan) and her trainee (Courtney I believe). They were friendly, informative, and a fun pair. They were great at offering recommendations and even gave me a complimentary queso since I hadn't been to OTB in so long. Even more impressive was that the manager(Russell?) came up and spoke with me, and was even running orders and making rounds at all the tables.

Overall I was impressed with the customer service. I saw all the negative reviews and it seems like the owners have noticed and are making changes. It's a fun place for Tex-Mex.

Food:

Came in, wasnt greeted quickly. Decided to go to the bar for better service. Found the bar littered with pre customer trash and plates. Bar tender wiped bar down after i sat down throwing debris on me. Then i ordered draft beer got my glass only to notice after half done red and other colored dryed something on my glass. Bar tender offer apologies and another glass. Offered me chips and salsa but not once offered me a menu. Decided to not eat and go home hungry !
Needless to say i wanted to eat here but went home hungry !!!

I should've taken a cue from the ratings. We waited for more than 10 minutes, and nobody bothered to attend to us -- all this while the staff was roaming right next to us. I won't suggest any of my friends to visit this place.

I'm not a picky eater at all but I do have an allergy (bad allergic reaction) and I have never had a problem at any other restaurant asking for my food without pork or change it for another meat, the manager however is the most disrespectful man, not nice, not cooperative always arguing with the costumer. How sad it's that. It was my first time visiting ON THE BORDER restaurant and after a hospital visit I'm pleased to say I'm never going back nor will I recommend this place to anybody. However the general manger was very polite to my husband that's why I give it a one star review.
