08/27/2015 8:48 pmOld World Charm with a German Accent. This quaint and modest little cafe is simply decorated with basic seating, but offers a wonderful respite from the usual fast lunch options. The menu is simple with some traditional sandwiches and soups, but the quality of the food and the pastries is superb. Be forewarned though: they do not accept credit cards. |

05/31/2015 4:03 pmErhard's is fantastic. It feels like a real, old-fashioned German bakery, sitting in the corner of a Safeway shopping center, which is just kind of hard to believe. |

07/08/2013 1:33 amThis is our favorite bakery in the area. My mom was from Germany and we visited there often -- the pastries here are authentic and remind me of the ones I've had there. The apple strudel is wonderful, as is everything else we have tried. We also highly recommend the veggie quiche. The couple who runs the bakery (and makes the products) are very sweet and helpful. Everything is made the same day so the selection is greater the earlier you go. Some items are every day while other specialty items rotate days. |

02/16/2010 12:23 amRegrettably purchased a custom cake from here. It was supposed to be a Swedish "Princess cake." After agreeing on a very traditional version of this cake at the time of order, I was unpleasantly surprised to find that the final product had no food coloring at all and was the natural color of marzipan. While it shouldn't affect the taste of the cake, it is, in fact, part of the presentation and appeal. The baker was an older European man who was unapologetic and assigned the blame on me for not specifying that it be green. Unfortunately I paid for the expensive cake ($68+tax) and left as it was meant to be my wife's birthday cake. |
