12/14/2013 12:57 amWent to eat to try it out, not much on the menu to choose from. Asked for a mild salsa with the chips, they said they had a salsa verde, but will have to charge like 1.99, I've never been charged when asking for a mild salsa. My friend ordered a beef nacho appetizer and I ordered an enchilada combo. The nachos came on a plate, first off we noticed it was chicken and not beef. The worse thing was there was seriously like 10-12 tortilla chips on the plate (keep in mind we paid $9.99) each with a portion of chicken and cheese, each chip topped with a jalapeño. We stared at it in disbelief. The enchiladas had an almost burgundy colored sauce, which was extremely spicy. I asked the waitress what was in their enchilada sauce, because im allergic to jalapeños and certain spices (but usually am fine with enchilada sauces) she said she didn't know what was in it, but "it's our normal salsa verde enchilada sauce." Now I'm not fluent in spanish, but I do know for sure that verde is spanidh for green, need I remind you my sauce was burgundy. She seemed like she was holding back laughter about my question.... so needless to say we ate some of the food, paid and left, only to still be hungry and upset about our $20 bill... No bueno :-( |

06/16/2012 4:02 amI live near this place and had never heard anything great about, but I always wanted to try it out to see if what people were saying was true. And it sure was. The food was bland. I had enchiladas and there was nothing interesting to say. The few people that I know like this place say they do because of how hot their food is. Which granted if that's what you're looking for in Tex-Mex and nothing else, than this is the place to go. The decor and service was fine, nothing to rave about either. |

09/07/2011 6:27 amYes, that is an armadillo on the ceiling. That is just one of the many items that teleports you to the Texas/Mexico border. The food and margaritas are fresh and quality. I kept expecting to see a little old momma in the back cooking like its Sunday with the family. I'm pretty sure she's back there, the food is that good., |

09/04/2011 7:08 pmBest Tex Mex I have found in PDX so far (and trust me, I'm looking). Decidedly not upscale. Atmosphere is kitschy roadside diner. Service is casual and friendly. Food is well-priced, enormous portions of home-cooked goodness. Many classic dishes and some surprises. Good margaritas, too, made from scratch. |

06/22/2011 11:47 pmIt's not Mexican. It's Tex-Mex, and one of the few places in town that does it. |
