I hate this location. Terrible customer service. They do not know how to handle big parties. Their stupid insufficient employee's. They insisted they had to see all 20 of us and we where right in front of them. If you plan to come with a big crowd this is not the place to go.

Food was great!! I had ribs my husband had the brisket, both were superb. The Wilbur beans and cornbread muffins were very good as well.
The service was excellent. Andrew was our waiter, he was very attentive. The rest of the staff rarely passed by with out ensuring we were doing ok (cleared plates, offered to refill drinks etc).

Not a very good experience. First, after being seated, our host passed us by twice. Another waiter took our drink order. Then later our waiter took our order. They had ran out of the sweet corn earlier in the day, but this was 6pm when we sat down to eat.
The food overall was tasty, then when paying for the check, another waiter had to fill in again, and upon returning, he mixed up our credit cards. And to top it all off, our parking was validated for 59 minutes, which the first 60 mins is FREE. It took us 3 mins to walk to car and drive to exit booth, where we were charged $2 for arriving at the booth after 62 minutes. I just shook my head.
The food service was subpar and the parking is a total RIP-OFF... 2 minutes... Really...

Mother's Day was celebrated at Famous Dave's BBQ. We arrived 30 mins before opening, and to our delight, diners were being seated already. My mom & I haven't been here before, so our group decided upon the Feast for Two, in order to get a taste of several of Famous Dave's offerings.

Feast for Two
St. Lous-style spareribs, country-roasted chicken, your choice of Texas beef brisket or Georgia chopped pork, creamy coleslaw, Famous fries, Wilbur beans, sweet corn, cornbread muffins and a slice of toast.

I was disappointed with the ribs. I thought they were rather dry. Being what Famous Dave's is known for, I found these to be the equivalent of going to a gentlemans' club, only to find out it's Senior Stripper Night. Not was I was expecting.

On the other hand, the chicken was tasty! Moist, tender & fall off the bone. I had the thigh, which many consider their favorite part of the chicken. For me, wings win out, but I do like the extra fat and the delectable skin. In addition, the Wilbur beans were quite flavorful. I wanted to reenact the scene from "Blazing Saddles" and have a fart concierto ;p The coleslaw was satisfactory. I didn't taste the brisket, but it looked good.

We also had some chicken tenders, which were decent.

Lots of sauces on the table for diners to try. My favorite had to be the vinegar-based Georgia Mustard. I love the sour tang of vinegar. The Texas Pit sauce had a rich, smoky flavor. For those bold enough, the Devil's Spit & the Wilbur's Revenge dare you to take them on. The Wilbur's Revenge sauce has the heat of habanero peppers. Sweet up front, with a long, burn at the finish that stays for awhile. Good stuff!

Service was good. Our attendant catered to our needs, expanding the table to accomodate our food & even turning off the A/C because some of us were cold. Not me, though. I'm always hot. I sweat eating ice cream ;p

Parking is valet, $6 for the first 5 hours. We appreciated the valets giving out roses to all moms.

Famous Dave's offers good, but not great, BBQ. The ribs weren't extraordinary, but the chicken & the beans were quite flavorful. I recommend stopping by if you're in the area, but don't expect the best BBQ ever, IMHO. Don't forget to sign up for the email club for free birthday month food.

Famous Dave's has amazing BBQ! Their cornbread is to die for, moist and perfect out of the oven. I love their family platter! Perfect serving for 2-4 people and we still had leftovers! It comes with a portion of their famous meats, chicken, brisket, and ribs with 2 extra sides on top of their cornbread and potato wedges. If you've never been here I recommend this platter so you get a taste of all the best! Not to mention a great atmosphere and vibe from Downtown Long Beach, right by the water!
