Go to Tiki Tolteca upstairs. It's small and quiet, quite a contrast from downstairs. Two drinks and four tacos for $20 during happy hour. Both were fantastic and the atmosphere was great.

I always look for 3 things (how clean it is, price, and taste).

The place was clean, restroom was clean as well.
For not-100% authentic mexican food, the price was not bad 40$ for three including drinks.
Taste; chicken was soft, well-cooked and tender, very delicious. The steak was one of the best I ever had in a fast food restaurant, very tender, juicy and tasty. The tortillas were good, the cilantro and onion added a good flavor to the tacos. The only thing that caught my interest, the lemons where cut in tiny slices (tiny like one lemon cutted in ten little pieces). Definetly recommended to swing by and have some good food.

Really fast service. The food is really good. Love the corn tortillas I had with my Plato. Conveniently located off Peters, so it's close to the Quarter without the hassles.

Dollar for dollar you simply cannot beat the food and honestly it tastes amazing. Chicago, my home town, is flush with amazing Mexican food and Felipe's, all the way down in NOLA, will give most a run for their money. Get a po-boy, but after that this is a must visit.

Maybe I've just had too much Chipotle, but this seems more than a step above. Flavors are great, portion sizes are manageable (based on how you order toppings, it'll be as big or small as you like) and the restaurant was clean and inviting. I had a quesadilla with the tinga (sp!) chicken and it was outstanding. The Chipotle pickled onions on the side were delicious. $4 margs today, which never hurts. Would eat again!
