Skip the rest of the limited cafe-style menu – it's the rich, artfully presented confections from this modern Park Square wonderland of desserts that are the real draw, packing in nearby theatergoers, late-night cravers and anyone with even the slightest weakness for sweets; premium prices come with the territory, though most insist it's worth every cent (plus there are frequent specials).

The molten chocolate lava cake here is mind blowing. Not 5 stars because I'm sad they closed down the Harvard Square location. Great place for ending the dinner date.

Perfect date dessert place. They even have a quick cafe if you are on the run to enjoy their desserts without the wait.

Finale has no clear clientele. While the price point indicates it's upscale aspirations the mediocre lunch fare, cheap paper napkins, refusal to give complimentary water seem to signal either poor taste or desperation. The pastries from the case are too cold to be enjoyable (their flourless chocolate mouse is served as a dense block that requires effort to cut into and has little flavor until allowed to warm to room temperature). The staff has always been very polite even as they explain unfortunate management decisions such as the new policy to charge for writing "happy birthday" on a cake (was free, is now $5!).

Yes Finale WAS great - a few years back when they actually had good service. Today we went to have desserts and coffee (4 of us) and as we had to order (no table service until 5pm it was 4pm) we ordered 4 coffees and 4 desserts and 4 waters. We were informed that there was no water in glasses available on the table and in fact not even for table service. That's horrendous since last time we went, we were greeted with ice water (you realize we are having high end sugary desserts) and water is necessary - we could buy it however. We left and went to Cafe Nero where they were excellent and the wait staff was perfect as was the coffee. Will never return and skip this one please and head to Cafe Nero

On a hot summer day, their air conditioning was apparently broken and the place was warm. That was our first sign to leave. We were seated next to an open door and cigarette smoke from outside was bothering my family; they have severe asthma. Our waitress was nice enough to shut the door until another family came in and asked for the door to be opened. Their waiter opened the door wide open without even apologizing or offering us a different table. That was our second sign to just leave. There was another couple sitting next to us, the lady wore a burkha, and we heard them tell their waiter that they were waiting too long. That was our third sign to say something or make a scene.

However great the desserts are, the rudeness of one waiter is all it takes to get the low rating.
