"Mad-spicy", "out-of-this-world" Caribbean chow comes in "plentiful" portions and for sums "you can't beat" at these "small but inviting" counters; a "fast", "friendly" staff completes what regulars deem a "real" "island-dining experience."

The jerk chicken was quite dry which is hard to do for chicken thigh. Things didn't taste very fresh as the rice was slightly soft and mushy.

Jerk wings are the real deal. Curried goat is delicious and the rice is awesome .

Generous portions for the price. Quality is far above what I was expecting from what seems like primarily a take-out place.

This was our first dining experience at Flames and there will be many more. The atmosphere has a split personality with the food/service area on one side morphing across the room to a cushy, pillowed banquet lined with small wood topped tables. The food looked and smelled great and we were hungry! We took a table and ordered Red Stripes and food starting with a cod fritter. It had a chewy exterior and a soft middle dotted with chunks of cod and something spicy. Although it was not my friend's cup of tea, I liked it and happily finished it off. Following shortly after were our entrees of Jerk Chicken and the braised Oxtail. Each plate was piled with rice and red beans, vegetables (she had the cabbage) and the side of plantains we added - lots of food. The meat in both dishes was fall-of-the-bone tender with layers of flavor in the very well reduced sauces. There was ample sauce for sopping plantains and soaking up the delicately spiced rice. It was intensely good and we ate as much as our bellies would allow. Our chef came by and cleared the table dropping off some coconut cake which we saved til later. Our compliments were rewarded with 2 beef patties he tucked into our take home bag as well. I don't have tell you that I'm pretty lucky to have my lunch all set for tomorrow. Great hidden little gem!

Good Jamaican food mon'! The service was great and food came out timely. Although they were out of 2 dishes my son wanted, the waiter was very accomodating offering a sample of a good substitute. Cozy dining...
