06/03/2011 4:18 amAbsolutely the best clams i've ever had!! I've lived in Anchorage Alaska all my life and i absolutely LOVE SEAFOOD! I've eaten at pretty much all the resturaunts in town and out of town that serve seafood. The Fancy Moose Resturaunt & Bar has a beautiful view of the lake and surrounding area from both the inside and outside of the resturaunt. In the summer time they open up the patio so you can bathe in the sunshine and get a better view of watching the planes take off and land on the lake while enjoying your meal. I have to say I had quite an experience, I came here on three seperate occasions and not once was dissapointed. The bartender and servers were so friendly. It had such an uplifting atmosphere. I ordered Kelly's clams that had the taste of cajan infused spices in the broth, sweet diced tomato, chopped white onion and with a great alaskan twist of reindeer sausage. A perfect balance of both sweet and spicy to make your mouth water. It had little slices of bread for dipping that was just so pleasant. The presentation was suppurb and i would definitely reccomend this resturaunt!! Even if you dont favor seafood as much as I do or at all there's a club sandwich special that is not just any old classic club it has fresh tomato, brie cheese, soft pallofa bread, juicey cooked chicken (that was so moist!) sundried tomato spread and baby spinich leaves. I personally am not too much of a spinach, brie cheese, or tomato fan but honestly tasting this sandwich gave me a whole nother outlook. The flavor and combination was so perfect. You can definitely tell that Chef Kelly and the cooks of The Fancy Moose Resturaunt really care about their food, how its prepared, and presented. Such passion for food and the way its made is hard to find in anchorage when most of the city is overtaken by fast food and chain resturaunts. Check this resturaunt out for yourself!! |
