11/23/2012 2:35 pmTea rolls, pad thai with a twist, and japanese curry are my top picks there. Also give the mochi a try. They are some rare commodities in Amherst so your only place to get it is at Fresh Side. |

11/20/2012 10:27 pmI can't recommend this place highly enough! I've had better Pad Thai but from a delicious pot of tea for a reasonable price to an Apple-Curry Udon dish with tender chicken and fresh vegetables - it's a gem in the center of Amherst. Their tea rolls are divine - I only wish I had time enough to try them all! The Udon noodle dish, not a soup mind you however that is on the menu, reminded me of Chicken Pie to be honest; the simply savoriness and wholesome warmth of the dish was perfection. |

08/17/2008 7:44 pmFirst, I have to agree with Ellen K. below about the horrendous service, but I dont think it has to do with gender differences. Im a middle-aged man of color and was also ignored, then the food took a long time to arrive, all the while a couple next to us was served almost immediately after ordering. To boot, the idiot server gave the table OUR order. Before they realized that it was not their order, the food had been bitten into and I lost my appetite. The problem, IMHO, is the young and lazy waitstaff that is too busy gossiping about the one that got away (examples are numerous throughout Amherst and Noho). They need too hire serious people that understand CUSTOMER SERVICE. What makes the experience all the worse is that when you dont tip because of the bad service, they look at you with a donkey face. Having said this, food items at Fresh Side are original but Ive had much, much better nouveau Asian. But what do we expect? Amherst restaurants leave much to be desired and the selection is limited in these parts. |
