German Schnitzel Haus, Jacksonville, Florida Restaurant Details

Awful. If McDonald's did German food it would still stink, but it would be better than the food at this joke of a restaurant!

Overall the place is nice but the food and service needs attention.. also they had 3 tables and a party outside of 14, and the server was telling new customers they were busy and they would have to wait to long for food so they lost 3 sets of customers.. sometimes they bring dinner Bread to the table and sometimes they don't.. also food does not have flavor .. been to this place 3 times .. don't think I'll be going back

As an European I grew up with schnitzel. It was a joke what I got here. The potato salad was uneatable too. This place has nothing to do with good German food

My experience at this restaurant has always been fabulous. Most recently they have a new head chef who has added many new delicious options. The staff are always helpful and friendly as are the owners.

I desperately want to like this place but they make it impossible to do so. The new location doesn't feel very German but it's certainly an upgrade from their last location. However, they don't have a bier garten. They have a patio in front of the parking lot.

For us, the service was awful. After being seated we watched other tables get greeted, served drinks, and place orders before anyone even came to acknowledge our presence. For some reason they brought out our food before they brought us bread and our side orders. In fact, my sides didn't actually arrive until after we had finished with our entree and had our plates taken away. Not kidding. To be fair, we probably never would've actually received the bread if I hadn't repeatedly asked the waitress for it. However, when we had gone 35 minutes after placing our order and hadn't seen any food yet, I was getting a little hungry. (shocking!)

The food itself is hit or miss. The spaetzle is dry and flavorless, but some other sides are better.

They were out of the first beer I ordered, so instead I asked for one of their dunkels (dark lager). Instead they brought me a dunkelweiss (wheat beer). This is the equivalent of ordering Coke and being served Cherry Coke. You might like Cherry Coke, but you ordered Coke. If you wanted Cherry Coke you would've specified as much!
