Get Caked Bakery, Rochester, New York Restaurant Details

You know how many years it has been since I have had a delicious cookie? Because it's the same number of years since I had to start eating gluten-free. That is until a couple weeks ago when I went here for the first time. Even my non-celiac friends say they are super good.

We have gone to a lot of cupcake cookie stores and Get Caked has by far the best cookies and cupcakes with a friendly atmosphere.

I'm not vegan, but I have been doing a month-long vegan challenge at work. I decided this would be the perfect time to give some vegan desserts a shot (I am vegetarian and I like to keep an open-mind when I try new things, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to choose vegan over regular.) Instead of making my own, I thought Get Caked would be the perfect place to do so. I've already been here twice in two weeks. If you weren't told, I doubt you'd be able to tell that the vegan desserts were vegan. The cupcakes were moist and flavorful, and the frosting (in my opinion, the best part of a cupcake) was very good and not overly sweet. There was one cupcake that really stuck to the liner - a little annoying, but it came out mostly unscathed and was not overly dry when I ate it. The vegan sugar cutout cookies were probably my favorite thing I've had from Get Caked so far, and the vegan chocolate chip cookie was one of the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had. My husband enjoyed it, and he would never consider trying a vegan diet. He got a few regular cupcakes and cookies on our first visit, and told me that we definitely need to go back. I'm excited to try even more options once the vegan challenge is done, but I would definitely continue getting the vegan treats. Prices are reasonable, and they offer a reward punch card (with the generous choice between a four pack of cupcakes OR dozen cookies after the card is full.)
