Food:

I've tried several items on the menu and all of them have been good. I haven't struck out in 5 trips to Great Dane.

Food:

First time visiting recently, and I have to say I was impressed with the sheer size of the place. Huge beer gardens, plenty of seating on multiple levels... It was very big and very busy for a Saturday afternoon.

I tried their Heffeweisen beer, I think it was the Crop Circle Wheat, and it was really tasty. Comes with a lemon instead of an orange, so it has a little bit of extra sourness to it that is really satisfying.

I also ate the Wisconsin Mac & Cheese, and wow was it good. Creamy cheese loaded onto a bowl of noodles and served with a small pretzel bun... It was very heavy though, and more filling than it looked. All in all, with the beer and the Mac & Cheese, I definitely got a solid taste of Wisconsin hospitality. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in town!

Food:

A big (seriously big) restaurant with a lot of great options for food and beverages on the menu. I had the German sausage plate which came with one bratwurst, one frankfurter, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, baby dill pickles, and a tiny pretzel roll. It was very filling and very satisfying. I had a root beer brewed by Great Dane and it did not disappoint.

Food:

Always a good environment and a Madison staple. Great microbrews. If new to Madison or just passing through, The Great Dane is a must. They have several locations throughout Madison, Fitchburg, etc. Sunday brunch at the Hilldale location is pretty good and at a reasonable price.

Food:

Great atmosphere. The food is a little inconsistent. Sometimes you get great dishes other times it's a little lacking. I recommend it for groups and lunchtime it's much quieter and can be a laid back place.
