Went to Grinnell's on Saturday night for the first time for my guy's birthday. From the minute we walked in the Restaurant it was class all the way!!! The atmosphere, the friendliness and professionalism of the wait staff, our bartender Chris, and let's not forget our waiter AJ!!! What a fantastic young man!! Class all the way!!! Did I mention the food!! I cannot rave enough... Everything was melt in your mouth incredible.!! The owner also stopped at our table to see how everything was, now that's the way it should be!! This may have been our first time eating at Grinnell's, but it will definitely not be the last!!

Most incredible meal ever. Filet and crab that melts in your mouth. Service the way it SHOULD be. Family run, and it shows. Drinks done perfectly. This is a night out. a great night out. We love it here!!!

Consistent. That is worth something when you want a good meal with no pretentious staff, menu, nor themed decor.
Prime rib on Thursdays is simply the best in town. Drinks are always generous and fairly priced.
As for "old clientele" , maybe experience has taught them something right? Our 15 year old loves it there because he knows restaurants are to eat good food in good company regardless of their age whereas theme parks are, well, for themes. Grinnell's has been his choice for family events and milestones since he was 12. And let me tell you this kid has eaten and likes uni, roasted ginny pig, tripe, steak Tatar, and so on.
Actually Grinnell deserves 5 stars when you consider the value to price ratio. However I am on a mission to fight rating inflation.

P.S.
I wrote the above review 7 years ago. I stand by it. Our son just returned from Brazil (he is 22 now). His choice for a return home meal: Grinnell's

The service was great the wait staff was well trained, attentive and thoughtful. They do a good job placing patrons so when they are not as busy that you are not sitting close together and that was nice. All restaurant employees took pride in their job. The salad serving reminded me of when I was a kid and the dressings were self serve. The one thing that I would like to say was the food was good and prepared well but there was nothing that was unique tasting about it. When I go out I look for something that I do not cook or a different preparation, everything is fairly simple here. My husband indicated that his whiskey sour was really good, tasted like it was hand crafted and not poured from a mixer bottle...one of the best he has had.

Excellent food and service at a decent price point.
Primarily attracts the older crowd.
The owner is very kind and personally checks on you.
